PC Study Bible Version 5 Discovery Reference Library

It meets all my needs. The only shortcoming is that it needs to be run in compatibility mode in Windows. It also prompts for permission to make changes to the hard disk each time it starts up. It also crashes when an advertisement for additional products from PC Study Bible appear when first starting up. The crash problem is solved by simply restarting the program.

There are two things to consider when purchasing Bible software. The second thing is actually more important than the first. The first thing to consider is if the software is a good product. I actually love the Biblesoft product. However, and this is the more important second thing, the company that sells and manages this product is so incredibly bad that I would strongly recommend no one buys this product or any of their products...ever. They will not maintain their software for system upgrades but will require you to purchase books you already own over and over again. They offer almost no customer support (I say almost because I've not been able to reach anyone for about 2 years). The online program does not work properly. There is just nothing good to say. It's like buying a car that won't ever start. It looks good in the driveway, but you'll never drive it on the road. That this is supposed to be a Christian company is greatly disappointing.

When buying this version, one should be very careful to note not the number of Bible translations but rather whether any of the translatons are what you want. Version 5 translations are not shown in the Amazon information but can be seen on the BibleSoft site. Does anyone really care what the Benjamin Franklin version of the Bible says other than historians?

I ordered this product because wanted a way to copy and paste Hebrew Text into my books that I write. I have been using a web sight for this. What I found was that when I copied the text into my document, it did not paste in the Hebrew text, but instead give a message in English sated where Hebrew Text started. The only reason that I ordered this product was that so I would not have to rely on an internet connection to do my writing. While this software has many good resources just for study, it is not good for a serous author who needs to paste in Hebrew. However one may download e-sword for free and get much more than what this product has to offer. I do not recommend purchasing this. Save your money and stick with e-sword.

This is a wonderfully usable piece of software! It allows you to page around the scriptures in an easy fashion. It is, at least in my opinion, the best version around today from the standpoint of reliable translation.

I am not sure about whether the 1-touch upgrade is worth it. Would love to see a review by someone who bought it. The cost of the upgrade version ($800+ just for upgrade) seems so high that it may tip the scale of overall value to Logos were I a new purchaser. Compared to Logos there appears to be less functionality in current non 1-touch versions but the cost is so much less than Logos this becomes a value proposition. I wish Biblesoft had more commentary sets available to buy as Logos does. On the other hand I buy/use only the best commentaries on each book of Bible so I do not have any modern complete sets that you pay through the nose for one way or the other.I am glad I did not spend twice as much or more on Logos at this time. I disagree with other reviewers that this is abandonware. Every single time I have had any kind of issue over the 7+ years I have used this their technical support team has stepped up and fixed/addressed the problem by phone or email.Sometimes this involves the user just asking tech support how to do certain things. For example it is super easy to copy Greek and Hebrew text straight into Word you just must know how to do it. Here is how to do it. I tried to post results but Amazon does not allow me to paste special. I assure you this works perfectly every time Greek and Hebrew.HOW TO1. Highlight text you want to copy in Greek or Hebrew.2. Right click text then select "other actions"3. Now select from the drop down under "other actions", “copy selection as rtf", then copy and paste into Word.4. Works perfectly for me every time Greek and Hebrew or anything you want to copy that you want to look exactly as the software shows it.

I used it for years, but they are falling badly behind. Quite unstable in Windows 10, which is my biggest issue. It is reasonable in 8.1. No support for multiple screens. I don't want to, but I am getting ready to abandon them and move over to http://www.accordancebible.com/. It will cost quite a bit, but I need software that works, not empty promises. And, their Facebook site admin person gets very critical of negative comments and removes them, instead of giving real answers. They said I was acting like a spoiled child, wanting my software to work. Hmm, OK. They have been promising a new version called "One Touch" and it sounds awesome, but I have not seen any evidence that it is real. And they will not release screen shots. So, after 20 years of support, I feel I must say goodbye. I don't want to, but I don't see any choice. I need stable and up to date features. (Oh, I have the Professional package with many addons. Guessing over $2000 invested)
