DO NOT buy “Used-like new” it’s a broken plate
It’s a good looking hand made plate. But how can the price keeps jumping from $20 to $50 for unknown (safety reasons also) plates each time person makes a purchase, it’s unbelievable. Please DO NOT purchase “Used-like new” option because I did and the plate came broken.

Textured, tactile, holds heat, somewhat exotic -- all these features are more appealing to me than the usual bland crockery.
If it's time to get new plates and you'd like to try something different, these RoRo ceramic hand-thrown stoneware dinner plates are an alternative whose qualities either will or will not be consistent with your notions about how best to present food.In my kitchen, hot food is never served on a cold plate. I often heat my plates in the microwave, and other exotic plates I've used in the past don't like this. After a while they get brittle and crack. Not so with these RoRo plates. They'll withstand microwave warming, or heating in the oven, and will because of their heft retain their heat right through the meal. This keeps the food on them toasty warm till the last bite."Hefty" is an accurate descriptor of these plates. Their kaolin clay is rendered by an artisan's hands into a thick and heavy 11-inch not-quite-round artifact. No two are alike. Each has a textured surface and a slightly irregular circumference. To me,, the effect is pleasing. We purchased some in "mottled egg black" and some in "crackled" (ivory with a touch of green), and have discovered that both colors complement the food that rests upon them. To put it another way, in my opinion dinner just looks more appetizing when served on a rustic and organically hued plate. I can understand that more conservative buyers might find their no-compromise design to be off-putting, and for them, Crate & Barrel awaits!I'm not sure whether they'd be appropriate for haute cuisine, but nobody eats that anymore, so it's moot. For nouvelle cuisine, in my opinion these plates provide a lovely, textured setting. They do the same for heaps of pasta, or a grill-charred ribeye. And they're not just for special occasions. These plates are the opposite of fine china -- they're rugged enough for everyday use.My only quibble with our RoRo plates is that I wish they were an inch larger. But then again, portions are declining in size, and smaller seervings will seem like generous portions on this compact dinner plate. This approach to the dinner plate is not for everyone, but if you are inspired by all-natural raw materials, hand-craftsmanship, a sense of mass and weight, and a plate that makes the food on it look more appetizing, I recommend you give these plates a serious look.
