The square outlets are a bit challenging as the plug itself has a plastic guard probably to prevent someone from shoving a butter knife or something in there. This causes this not to be able to reach the electricity. I just took a pair of pliers and "removed" that little guard and it worked just fine. Obviously I would not recommend this to anyone with children or in situation where someone may try to stick something in the side of the socket... the device itself works just as described and provided endless current to my under counter lighting via USB wire.. thanks.

this is really nice plate. the only issue i see with it is luck of instruction on how to make it work. luckily for me i tried it first on another outlet but when i put it in my daughter room it would not work. so you need to make sure the screws on both side of outlet are extended. then this plate works well.

No where in the description does it state only for standard outlets but on the box it states this. I was really excited to be able to add USB ports to my outlet over the desk but it turns out this is not compatible. Seems like a great product and might get a standard one to put on a different outlet but this one will have to go back.

This is fantastic! Simple to install and works great. No need for the wall charger plug and leaves both outlets free to use.
