this has been brilliant, i bought 2 - one with a base first, then see the one without the base. - i have them on the corner of my wall where one of my cats decided to scratch all the wallpaper off. - we redone the living room and added these. - screwed them to the corner of the wall, - perfect.

Haven't actually seen the cats attempt to scratch the arms of my new sofa yet, so great if it's deterring them!

Wanted this to cover the corner of our armchair as our cat had started clawing it. It definitely does the job, it covers the corner and I've seen the cat using it. However, if the cat puts too much pressure on it the post topples over. There are fixings included if you want to attach it to a wall but no way to secure it to an armchair. Apart from that it's pretty good and very well made.

I bought this to protect my new sofa, as my cats like to scratch the furniture. It fits perfectly around the corner of the sofa and matches the furniture nicely.I was concerned that it might fall over easily as the base is quite small. However, it comes with a hooked screw and fixings to attach it to the wall (or wherever you are putting it). It was easy to attach to the sofa and is now really sturdy. Only took me five minutes to install and I am confident the cats will not be able to pull it over!I like the material, as it seems to be quite hardwearing. It doesn't leave little bits on the floor when the cats scratch it (like the ones made from wicker or rope do). The pattern is just like the picture.Overall I am really pleased with it and the cats seem to enjoy it too :)

It's more of a guard than a scratching post as I can't attach it to the sofa, it can easily fall down when my cat scratches it, but it does protect my sofa arm

These are amazing! Bought a new sofa and was worried the cats would ruin it but so far all is well and it is quite heavy too so my little cat doesnt't drag it over although the bigger ones do! It does have fixings for it which is a bonus but don't want to fix to sofa unless I really have to :D Very happy with it!
