Excellent shaver and bargain price
Absolute bargain for £50 ( free postage) compared to adverts in nation newspapers where the asking price is upwards from £69.99 plus £3.40 postage. Arriveed within 3 days of ordering.I completed the 2 year warranty online and received an acknowledgment. The instructions state the shaver should be charged before first use, but I found a charge was not necessary. Charge time is circa a couple of hours.Shaver does an excellent job but then I do not have a heavy beard but soft, delicate skin which I pamper daily with Nivea for men ( not being sexist the stuff is the same as that sold to women). Sideboard facility is effective. I wash the cutters in warm water and leave to dry before fitting back onto shaver. I suppose I'll need to renew the blades in a couple of years time if I'm still alive. You see the shaver was a birthday present to myself on achieving the chronological age for a free TV licence and still have sufficent sight and hearing to "survive" BBC broadcasts without paying for its usual rubbish. And the BBC wants to raise the fee to £175!

I have now lightened my touch - just gliding over face and the shave is good. Obviously electric takes a bit longer than a ...
Had the shaver about a month. I had a Philips before and got new heads for that 3 years ago. Can't het them now so changed to Remington. Interesting that Remington has two rows of cutters per head At different diameters in each of the three heads (obviously). When I first got it I think I was pressing on too hard on my face, I have now lightened my touch - just gliding over face and the shave is good. Obviously electric takes a bit longer than a blade shave but I am very satisfied. I have used electric for many years, Always Philips but this is a better shave than my last Philips. The shaver is slightly bigger than the Philips and as others have commented, it won't stand up without leaning it on something like a wall. If they had designed it with the holder hinge 5mm lower then it would stand up on it's own. It's easy to clean but another design feature could have been to incorporate a slot in the shaver (or it's holder) to house the head brush. I've put this comment in the hope that Remington will read it !!!!! I've stuck a bit of Velcro on it to do this job as I keep loosing the brush. It cost me £50 from Amazon and I am very satisfied for that price..

Wish I'd stuck with Philishave!
I was attracted to this shaver because of the styling, reviews and seemingly good value for money, it was purchased to replace a Philishave that decided that 2014 was not a year it wanted to work in, and so failed to work on New Years Day. It's proved to be an error of judgement, it does not shave anywhere near as close as the Philishave did, it's not as simple to "wash out" as you have to remove the cutters, whereas the cutters on the Philishave just flipped up and it you want to charge it away from home you have to take the charging stand with you, whereas with the Philishave you could remove the lead from the charging stand and plug it directly into the razor and so leave the stand behind. I'm sure that some people are getting a good shave from this razor, and would say they don't from a Philishave. It's the same with Braun, some people love them but I cannot get on with them, (another expensive mistake!). I can put up with this one for the time being but, once funds allow, I'll be going back to a Philishave.

a close shave
I have had this shaver for two weeks and am very happy with it. It is light, ergonomic and easy to take apart for cleaning etc. The shave is first class. Charging is straight forward although the instructions less so. Basically, for the model I purchased, a green light comes on, on the shaver when charging and it goes off when charging is complete. I charge it once a week and it seems to take an hour or so. The manufacturer recommends that once per 6 months, the shaver is completely drained and fully recharged. I had to email the manufacturer to register the guarantee (2 years) on-line.Prices vary enormously, I got mine for ~£40-00 but other web sites are retailing it at £150-00. So shop around for an excellent buy.

Terrible Purchase.
Possibly the worst purchase I have made on Amazon. Looking back it probably never worked properly from purchase. I never managed to get the charging working, positioning the razor in the cradle and propping the cradle up seemed to be impossible, especially when connected to the 2 pin power points in hotel bathrooms. The LED's seemed to be haphazard at best I have never seen the red LED on. The biggest problem was trying to switch the razor off which was hit or miss at best at the start. Now you cannot switch it off at all unless you put it into the cradle and attach it to the mains. Real shame as it shaves quite well. Oh and the beard trimmer fell off this week, something I hardly use. Not a patch on my old Philips razor and now I have bough a Braun. Avoid!

He found the quality of shave poor. In cleaning the heads
I purchased this razor just over a year ago for my husband, admittedly attracted by its cut price. The reason for the price reduction soon became evident. The charging process was rather miss/hit with the charging cradle being both flimsy and not really conducive to making charging contact. Battery life, even when fully charged, tended to fade quickly. He found the quality of shave poor. In cleaning the heads, the retaining plastic clip was both fiddly and inadequate. Problems continued when he accidentally dropped it about two feet onto the mattress, causing the head and trimming device to shoot off. Having re-assembled it, he continued to try to obtain a decent shave, which he never did. The demise of this shaver came when he was re-assembling the head after cleaning and it literally fell apart when a 3-legged piece of plastic turned into two. All in all, it certainly looks the part but looks can flatter to deceive. In his opinion, this is a product to steer well clear of.
