I love this book, it's brilliantly visual and helpful, I gave a four because one I thought the book should have been larger due to its content and layout, two I wish it had more content pages rather than sketchbook book pages. I still recommend this book and it came very quickly.

Bought as a gift for a friend but on receipt i noticed that half the book is blank pages (to practice on) the first half is good and some nice examples of creative hand drawn lettering but a shame there were not more of those as i'd prefer to use my own paper anyway rather than draw inside the book.

Firstly let me say that I really love Mary Kate McDevitt's work and I think she is very talented so that made me even more disappointed in this book! Being such a fan of her work I bought this book on Amazon without researching it first, expecting it to match up to the great standard of her work and integrity... and yes, it is useful and there is great advice and guidance for novice hand letterers, that is, until page 63 out of 188... after which the book is essentially filled with blank pages for you to practice lettering. I felt horribly let down and ripped off... so whilst I love MKMcD I would definitely not recommend this book as value for money.

the styles of fonts were very similar. they were very nice but i expected more. Also most of the book is note pages to practise on, which is a good idea. However, the book seems quite thick then to find that its mostly blank pages was a bit of a let down in my opinion. No disrespect to the artist who collated all of the fonts, they are really very nice but just wasn't for me. Maybe i should have investigated this prior to purchasing.

As the other reviews point out, only 1/3 of the book is actual content, very disappointed. The practice pages are not fit for their purpose either. Mary Kate's artwork is excellent and I really recommend her skillshare class over this book.

The book is good, it gives lots of tips! The only thing it may be considered a issue is that the most part of it was practicing pages, and not actually content, but I was aware of that before acquiring it so it's okay.

Si te gusta hacer, diseñar, trabajar, dibujar letras, este es el libro. Es un libro muy "frendly" para los que estamos en el proceso de aprender.

This book has really helped me learn about hand lettering. I'm certainly no expert yet, but the steps that the author walks through in every lesson make a lot of sense and have improved my lettering significantly. It's also encouraged me to think creatively. I've learned a lot about hand lettering, the terminology, and the tools that help. As someone who started hand lettering as a complete beginner with this book, I can say it was a wonderful place to start - not too simplistic as to be boring, but it doesn't assume readers have technical knowledge they might not. I appreciated all the examples and practice space. I also really liked all of the information and details included about topics I would never have thought of, such as digitising artwork. It's clear that the author is knowledgeable and talented.

Un libro genial para creativos o principiantes que quieran introducirse en el lettering. Ofrece un montón de lecciones practicas para practicar.

Gleich vorweg: ich bin ein großer Fan von Mary Kate McDevitt, sie hat eine unvergleichliche Art und Weise Handlettering umzusetzen. Immer mit Spaß und besonderen Elementen. Nachdem ich all ihre Kurse bei Skillshare durchgeschaut hatte (übrigens auch sehr empfehlenswert!), habe ich mir dieses Buch gekauft.Es sind unglaublich viele Beispiele aus dem tollen Portfolio von ihr drin, sowie am Schluss linierte Seiten fürs eigene Erstellen und Üben.

O conteúdo reunido pela autora é lindo, porém compõe apenas 40% do volume, o restante são folhas em branco para a pessoa praticar. Realmente não equivale ao preço cobrado.
