This review is of the 5 CD set.This is a wonderful, pre remastered set of 5 original albums from the masters of what many call smooth soul. As one other reviewer noted, the 1973 release, Rockin' Roll Baby is strangely missing.. This set is a brilliant collection. Many of their UK top 30 hits can be found across the 5 CDs. Not so keen on the tight fitting outside cardboard sleeve. It would have been better in a box. It makes sliding each card covetrd CD out quite hard. I do like that each card cover is the original vinyl album artwork. I'm generally overall very pleased with this set.

This collection of cds is very good value, have them all on vinyl but no record player now, good to have them on cds. Delivery was very quick

For many years, one or more of the LP by the Stylistics have been available on CD, but generally only for import to the UK. Having the first three LP on CD, I've never managed to obtain "Let's put it all together" on CD, nor "From the mountain". These 5 CD show what a superb soul group the Stylistics were when led by Russell Thompkins Jr. The price is incredibly low, and so for just over £2 a CD, 5 of the first 6 releases by the Stylistics are available on CD. I have no idea why the third record, 'Rockin' roll baby' has been omitted, but that particular LP has been available on CD before, so having 'Thank you baby' included (for me) is great news.Every track on each of these 5 CD is brilliant - and well worth buying.

I have to say that I echo the sentiments of another reviewer here in the respect that I would have loved to give this collection 5 stars but the sound quality (though perfectly listenable) does vary quite a lot from CD to CD.Bearing in mind the price of this collection and the undoubted quality of all 5 albums, however, I would award this set 5 stars for value for money.'The Stylistics' (8 out of 10) Is an album with plenty of their early classics but is very short for an album and sounds more like a collection of single tracks than works as a collection. Like the second album it is also primarily a vehicle for the vocal talents of Russell Thompkins Jr rather than an album featuring the rest of the guys.'Stylistics 2' (8 out of 10) Is another album chock full of hits but is fairly short on variety. Again Thompkins Jr dominates the vocals down to the fact that producer, Thom Bell, did not rate the rest of the group at this time and used only Russell's vocal talents on the first two records - backing vocals were supplied by seasoned session men like Bunny Sigler.'Let's Put It All Together' (9 out of 10) Works much better as an album listen that the first two records even though it 'borrows', 'You Make Me Feel Brand New' from the 'Rockin' Roll Baby' album. Its mainly a downtempo affair but non hits like 'Doin' The Streets' and 'I Got A Letter' are every bit as some of the group's finest works and its consistently on the button throughout.'From The Mountain' (10 out of 10) Is arguably the groups finest album of all. Airrion Love and Herb Murrell both get to showcase their lead vocal talents on this record and as such the album has not only quality songs but plenty of variety as well. From the brilliant Love/Thompkins sung opener, 'The Miracle' to the emotive, never more socially valid, religious title track closer, 'From The Mountain' ( the album was named 'Heavy' in the U.S. after the single of that name) is an entertaining and touching listen.'Thank You Baby' (8 out of 10) Reverts back more to a singles heavy approach and like the first album fails to really work as an album because of that. Individual tracks are nice though especially, 'Id' Rather Be Hurt By You' and 'Tears And Souvenirs' but the album heralds the beginning of the era when the group would perform less R&B and more 'showbiz' style songs with the inclusion of 'A Honky Tonk Cafe'...As for the sound quality I mentioned earlier, 'The Stylistics' is one you need to turn up a bit while the overall sound of 'Thank You Baby' is a bit shrill and trebly in comparison with the others. As general CD versions of the original vinyl Lp's, however, this set provides a chance ( at last!) to listen to these classic records without the scratches, pops and whistles and as such is still well worth buying.

back in 2013 left a revue of fabulous my main complaint is I have had to wait 4 years for these albums as others I would pay this price for 1 album just for hearing the true stylistic sound okay sound may not be as is expected but to hear these fantastic melodies headed by Mr Russel Tomkins jr takes me back to happy times in a age before PC and all the other repressions of today I have all Stylistics albums and if anyone listening please consider Wonder Woman and spotlight on the Stylistics don't keep us waiting we are getting not younger but listening to the guys in there hayday total joy thankyou very much all left to say HIT IT STARSKY

Classic soul from one of the best groups ever! If you're into chilled soul beautifully sung this set of 5 CDs are for you! I'd have paid the price for one cd & have been happy, but wow you get 5! My view is that these 5 albums are their best they ever did! Just arrived & will listen to them all, very happy here! Brings back fabulous memories too! このセットには彼等のアルバムの1st,2nd,4th,5th,6thの5枚が収録されております。2枚目の『Stylistics 2』はUK版になります。US版では『Round 2』でお馴染みですね。『From The Mountain』もUK版で、USでは『Heavy』のタイトルでした。最大の目玉はこれと、4thアルバム『Let's Put It All Together』の初CD化でしょうか。ただ、1stに関しては2008年の国内盤紙ジャケのほうが断然音が良かったです。この5枚には初期の彼等の魅力がギッシリと詰まっており、2017年の現在聴いても素晴らしい楽曲群と完璧な歌声にノックアウトされます。第二弾も大いに期待しましょう！！！
