Before making a purchase be aware this is not a traditional dog collar where one can attach the leadIt is a silicon tube with the string of LED's inside which are brighter than other similar productsThere is a simple clip arrangement to join the ends together This arrangement will allow the collar to split easily should the dog get caught in a hedge or similar so less chance of the dog starting to choke itself in trying to get looseThe suggestion is to cut the tube to size and in that one will also be cutting through the lead attached to the LED'sWhat I did was to remove the string of LED's before cutting the tube to the correct lengthIt was then a simple process to bend the extra length of lead and LED's back on itself until it was the correct length to fit inside the reduced length of outer silicon tubingIn this way you retain all the original.number of LED's so the overall effect is brighter than if there were some LED's missingThere has been no mention of effective battery life but I have found that I get around 90 min of very bright lights before it starts to dim and after that it is not much longer before the battery is flatI have had no problem in charging from a standard phone chargerThere is a red light that is on when charging I have found the light goes off indicating full charge but I tend to leave it connected where the light sometimes to come back on This maybe a bad connection but eventually goes off continuallyNot sure how waterproof the electronics section will be if you have a dog who likes going for a swimIt should be ok in plain river water and as it is only a low voltage should do no harm to the animalSea water would be a different situation and the unit would be made redundant

We’re on our second one of these - the first was bought when our pup was tiny and he grew out of the size we cut it down to! He gets lots of comments out on a walk!LEDs all the way around are much more effective than some that only have a short strip. At the moment it’s getting charged a couple of times a day as most of the morning and evening walks are in low light or darkness - battery is probably good for 45mins on the slow flash.Only negative is that the plastic housing can separate a bit, which loosens the catch (both of ours have been the same) but as long as you give it a squeeze when putting it on, it holds fine.

Really quick delivery and great product. Easy to cut down and adjust but I must stress to other potential buyers that this is not a 'one size fits all' collar. I have a rottie cross and the collar cut to its smallest 'recommended' cut down was wayy too big so I had to readjust the LED cable inside. You could probably fold the LEDs back in on itself inside the tube but I wouldn't buy for a dog with a small neck (like a whippet) or anything smaller than a spaniel. Staffies should be fine with the readjustments I've mentioned above.4 stars because it's a great product and quick delivery but lost a star for the readjustments needed not being as straight forward as implied.

I can highly recommend this dog collar for added safety when walking my dog at night.When you receive the collar you need to cut the end of the tube to the desired length, this is easily done with scissors as it is a silicon rubber material. We left it just long enough that it fits over our dogs head when fully assembled to save clipping and unclipping. The material is very soft around my dogs neck and she wags her tail when I put it on.We have been using the light for a week now, which is still on the original supplied charge. The collar has four setting which are selected by pressing the button on the clasp, once for fast flashing, second for a slower flashing function, third for a continuos light and fourth to turn the unit off.Not only is this collar great if you are wishing to let your dog off lead at night, it is also very handy to provide notice to drivers of your whereabouts (even reversing cars). My kids even want to borrow it for the school disco as they say that it is much cooler than glow sticks!We really are pleased with our purchase.

I purchased one of these to help keep my dog safe when out for those walks before bed time - on the whole I really liked the product, it's simple to use/cut to size and is really handy to be able to recharge via a USB connection. The only down side is I bought it for last winter and used it nightly during this period (around 4 months) and then kept it safe in the utility room ready for this year (as the nights are drawing in) only to find that the battery will not charge - I just get a steady flashing red light when the USB is connected, so I'm thinking of buying another LED collar - would I buy another of these? Possibly, it's competitively priced and did work very well last year, just mildly disappointed it's failed already...

Worked for about a week but now unable to charge and given up on it, so chucked in the bin.After the seller contacted me following this review, they were concerned that I was unhappy that the product broke very quickly. They immediately offered me a replacement or a refund. I opted for a refund as I had purchased a similar item elsewhere. must have been unlucky with the collar I received as there were so many good reviews on it.

I bought this collar for my dog to use during the dark winter nights. I have used it about a dozen times and whilst pleased with its performance WHILST IT WORKED I am disappointed that after such limited use, it no longer holds a charge and I only get about 10 mins use. I was only expecting to get the winter out of it as I appreciate it was not particularly expensive, but nevertheless I can't help but feel I've been short changed.
