Pelican cases are tough to beat for durability, waterproofing, and the price
After 20 years in the military, when I need a case, I look for a Pelican. This was a decent price for the case and the Prime shipping made it an easy choice. These cases are great for any application where you need a waterproof and durable case. I'm using this one to store firearms, and the reinforced lock holes are great for securing the case. The foam is easily pulled out to fit your application, but be aware that each cut of the pick and pluck foam is the full depth of the foam block, about 3". So if you have something that's shallower than that, you may need to get creative with cutting the foam. However, I found that the foam will meet my needs, until I decide that I'd like a custom foam insert for this case.

Very Durable
This was the perfect case for my project. Pelican is known to make best durable cases, and this one is for sure! I used this case to make a portable repeater for our search and rescue team. The case was the perfect size to fit a radio, 20ah LifePO4 battery, 12v power supply, and a battery charger. Sadly, I had to drill holes to securely mount the radio and a SO-239 connector, but the structure of the case was no affected. Overall, I think the case will last a very long time and keep the repeater inside free from damage, moisture, and dust. Thanks for a great product. I plan on getting the big brother pelican to this one for another repeater.

Tough Case with Tons of Pick & Pull Foam
The Pelican 1430 case comes stuffed of various layers of full of Pick & Pull foam. I didn't need the foam for my use but Amazon had the best price I could find for this case.I will use the case to replace a hard picnic basket which I take camping; this case has just the right dimensions for that purpose. Bet Pelican never thought of that when they designed it.As the other reviewer points out, the strap and file folders shown in the pictures are options. It does not include a strap (nor could I picture a use for a strap as it has a sturdy carrying handle).

Does not come with strap
Great box, as always from pelican. Misleading pictures, it looks like it comes with a strap. The description doesn’t say it comes with one, but one would assume it does from the multiple pictures containing it.

Good Enough for My Mom.
I love Pelican cases. It may sound odd, but I've actually buried two relative's ashes in this particular model. They were buried on my property, where I had expected to live the rest of my life, but just in case I moved at some point in the future I wanted to be able to retrieve them easily. Both sets of ashes were in rectangular marble boxes that fit perfectly into the 1430. Life rarely works out the way you expect, so a few years later I got re-married and ended up moving. It was easy to retrieve these cases and transplant them to a new location. Of course I had to look in side to see how things were holding up, and several paper documents were still pristine after years underground, and probably not quite below the frost line, either.I've used a Pelican cases for more traditional equipment transportation, too, mostly for field film production. These cases are tough as nails and keep your stuff safe, whether it's a $30,000 Steadicam or your loved one's ashes. Highly recommended.

Perfect for SmallHD 1303
Fits a 13” SmallHD monitor perfectly, with just enough room for the hood, AC adapter and a VESA mount.

wish there were more top-loader options
As designed, this product works great: lightweight, durable, waterproof. My only issue is not with the Pelican 1430, but Pelican itself. I was looking for a top-loader case to use as hard bags on my motorcycle (KLR650). The only choices were the 1430 and the 1440. The 1430 is a little small for my needs, but the 1440 is monstrous and weighs entirely too much for motorcycle use. Pelican makes boxes in all different sizes... if you're willing to get a suitcase style, but for top-loaders, those are the only two choices. I wish Pelican would come out with a "1435".
