Neon Genesis Evangelion (Limited Edition Re-issue) [Blu-ray]

Amazing series. Not worth the £99 pound but still I’m happy to have it. Very bland box design

I need to start off by saying I love this show. My first exposure to it was through the re-dub available on Netflix that you can find on the standard edition blu-ray but this collectors edition also contains the original ADV dub of the show from the 90s. I won't get too much into the debate but I think both are very strong in their own respective areas and in my opinion they're equal in quality.This is the second time AllTheAnime have released a collectors edition and all the discs are the same, but for some reason the packaging has been changed. The sturdy collectors box it comes with is good quality but all it has is the shows name on the front and the rest of it is just blue. The box art for the 3 individual blu-ray cases inside it isn't much either, with the shows name in dark blue font and the rest of it just being black. The poster it comes with isn't all that great but it's serviceable. They should've just used the box from the old collectors edition.Obviously the blu-rays contained are fantastic quality (excluding episode 16 because the masters were lost) and the option between the original dub/sub and the 2019 version is great. Disc 6 is a little odd, being contained in its own single disc case. It seems to be a version of End of Evangelion with Neon Genesis Evangelion branding, only available in Japanese. Whatever the case, I still recommend picking this up if you want an accessible version of the original dub in high quality. If you don't care about the original dub, just get the standard edition.

Got it on release and pretty satisfied. I know some people might prefer to have physical stuff but I'm perfectly fine without them.The box reminds me of the japanese Blu-ray release of 2015, which I prefer over the Ultimate and Collector's edition box. Read some reviews saying that it's too bland but honestly I like the simplicity of it, although admittedly the case art is a bit jarring.Comes with a poster, but I wouldn't really call it a poster, it's not that good. Still a neat idea, though.5 of the discs contain the series with japanese and Netflix dub, along with the bonus features. The 6th disc contains the video format version of End of Eva, only in japanese. The remaining 5 contain the original ADV dub, which is why most people will buy this box-set. No other languages included and no Fly Me To The Moon, so don't expect it to be here.Menus are the same as the japanese Blu-ray. Cool aesthetic but pretty bland, although that's an issue with most Blu-rays.Overall, love this boxset and its design.

I started with this via Rebuild Evangelion and got interested in neon genensis the original take.Only down part is no fly me to the moon , this is a netflix redo and they wouldn’t spend the money to buy the rights for all the different countries , but ok unless you have the DVD series , this is the best you can get

One of my favourite series of all time, I could not be happier to finally have the original translation in HD after missing the initial release of this set in 2021, tho it has its drawbacks. For starters the set is much more plain than that original set, along with coming with a really bad poster that’s a replica of the advertising for the Blu-ray, but presentation aside this is perfect (even if it’s a bit of a scam to charge double just to give access to a new audio and subtitle track since there’s no reason it couldn’t be included in the standard set other than to squeeze as much money out of the fans as possible).

There is a lot included here and the anime itself is totally amazing and I love it so much. The box feels fairly nice too.Biggest letdown is that "Fly Me to the Moon" is not included but I knew ahead of time so it's not a fault I can reasonably levy at this.
