Draper 09951 600mm Tilt/Turn Workbench , Blue

I needed a workbench after mistreating my last one, especially after my wife keeps giving me diy jobs to do! The price of this one was why I picked it to be honest, but I have to say I’m impressed with it. Took a little while to put together, instructions weren’t fantastic but pretty simple. It does what you’d expect and I really like being able to change the angles on the top plates, great for using as a vice for odd shaped things.

All in all, pretty good value for money. My Draper Tilt and Clamp Fold Down Workbench 09951 arrived with some cosmetic damage to the rear section of the work top - foiling to the MDF having lifted and chipped off during transit. That said, I had the impression, from the extensive use of tape around the carton, that my bench might well have been on its second outing. The bench arrives as a kit of parts for DIY assembly, a process that took me a little over an hour to complete. I could probably have done it in 40 minutes but for the woefully sketchy instructions. The trickiest part of assembly is attaching the slide bases to the worktop; it took me a good ten minutes to work out how to release the hinges to give access to the screw holes. Turns out it’s just a question of pushing on the head of each of the spring loaded pins - obvious once you’ve done it, but the instructions give no clue. Also, it’s important to keep said projecting heads to the outside of the unit when assembling, since you’ll need to press these to adjust the angle of the worktop sections on the finished unit. When it’s all together, it’s a fairly sturdy unit - but let down by a so-so quality work surface, where (in my case) the two parts are slightly misaligned. Upgrading the worktop with a couple of hardwood sections could be an early project...

Ingnore the review of the other Draper work bench. This was very simple to put together as I'm sure is the other bench as they are almost identical. There only 16 bolts and screws and you dont need to be a rocket scientist to work out how it goes together.It took me about 30 minutes and I'm the sort of guy who struggles with flat pack furniture. The written instructions are easy enough to follow. The assembled bench is very sturdy and the mechanism seems robust enough for everday household DIY. Its not an industrial piece of kit and for 26 quid I did'nt expect it to be. Perfect for a keen amature.And a very good price. Nice one Amazon.

The workbench itself seems sturdy and good value for money but the building instructions leave a great deal to be desired. Much essential information is not mentioned and the diagrams are not detailed enough to find key details. Without studying the pictures on the box which were not designed as an aid to assembly I could not have built it correctly.

Product arrived really quickly and in good condition. I thought it was dead easy to put together and I did it in a matter of minutes so no probs there. The bench seems sturdy enough for most diy jobs and does exactly what Draper says it does, no more no less. I am very pleased with this product and the supplier and it was a good price.

I have had this for a whole year, for the price i paid it worked well until, the pieces of lower bits of metal holding it together came loose, replaced the bolts (only one side) with some better ones, worked well until the other side came loose and broke, so never bothered repairing, also the wood it has on the top isnt good for rain i guess, as i left mine outside, used it as something to sit on, big mistake, one of the bits of wood split in the middle, so its in half, used other wood to clamp it together, but now it looks silly, so will have to order another, as to be fair this thing lasting that long to me isnt that bad as i was using it constantly and heavily anyway. I certainly would recommend this to anyone whos looking for something that could certainly last more than a year, just look after it, replace the bolts with stronger ones and always keep it inside when its not in use.

The workbench/workmate was relatively easy to assemble even though I suffer from arthritis in both hands. It is also sturdy enough for the projects I require it for. It is also lightweight for easy storage.

Sa mauvaise qualité le rend inutilisable, même pour du bricolage occasionnel... Les planches ne se rejoignent pas correctement et ne forment pas un plan de travail bien plat. Elles arrivent déjà abîmées, les graduations sur le plan de travail ne sont pas justes, il tient presque autant de place replié qu'ouvert... Bref, ça a été retour immédiat ...

Bon ptit établi maniable et facile a monté qui prend peu de place pour petite bricole (rabotage de porte et quelque découpe a la scie sauteuse) Seul hic pas de notice,pas utile pour moi, il faut juste regarder la photo du carton.
