Klymit Static V Lightweight Sleeping Pad

Very pleasantly surprised how comfortable this mat is sleeping on my side (a bony 12 1/2 stone), easy to blow up (12 of my breaths) and you stay put during the night. It packs down very easily after you work out how to fold it up (halve it and halve it again) into a small and light package. My only negative point is it is not very warm (what do you expect!). I am comparing this to a 30 year old thermarest self inflating mat which is maybe 4 times as heavy and probably 4 time the pack size. I was sleeping "wild" without a ground sheet to test it out but as it seems sensible to put air beds onto a ground sheet I intend to get a thermal type ground sheet which with luck will help. If you sleep in a tent and have the money then the thermarest neoair xlite sounds a better option but for more than half its price and only 164g heavier this mat ticks plenty of boxes.

Initially very impressed with everything about this item. Super fast delivery as well. Arrived days before advertised. Have slept on this two nights and am amazed how comfortable it is especially on the hips. I'm tall and heavy and have problems with my hips in most normal beds (I sleep on my side). Its really well designed very light and packs incredibly small. To inflate is really easy and takes no more than 15 big breaths. Deflating ,folding and packing is no problem, and the stuff sack is robust with a little repair kit. I will be sleeping on this regularly whilst camping in South America over the next year so the real test will be durability of the material and valve. My crazy kittencompleted a full claws out attack when I first used it and the seems to be no damage. Really worth spending the extra few pounds getting this rather than a yoga mat or gimmiky self inflating mat if your gonna be spending any serious time camping. Perfect for hiking as peaks small and light.

The mat is comfortable for me as a side sleeper. The inflation valve takes a bit of getting used to however once I got the hang of it it works extremely well. Good quality for price point

I’ve had various sleeping pads and inflatable air beds/mattresses over the years (usually opting for cheap and cheerful) this is by far the best nights sleep I’ve had under canvas. I needed something that packs really small for motorbike camping , it packs small weighs next to nothing and is great in the comfort department. I slept on it for 2 nights , i sleep on my side and can usually feel the floor but this kept me clear and comfortable. I didn’t have to add any air and at 6 fort and 17 stone it worked perfectly , top marks I’m no going to invest in a klymit pillow

Really really disappointed. Researched sleeping mats and finally bought myself the Static V as I am a side sleeper and a bad one at that. Other reviews were great. Worked well for a while, light, comfortable.......then started deflating overnight. The valve was leaking. Contacted customer service who were great and offered to send me a replaceable valve kit. It never turned up. I am unable to repair the mat or use it, and because of having to wait for responses from the US for my issue it's now totally out of any returns or warranty period. At the time I also bought a much cheaper mat for my husband and the cheapo one is still going strong. Really very disappointed indeed

I bought this as replacement to a foam mat. I usually wild or semi-wild camp in Scotland and got to test the mat a couple of weeks ago (2nd week in October). Despite having to share my wee tent that night, I had a great night's sleep on it - which really is the main test. It is also incredibly light and compact - when packed it is about the size of a water bottle. The limited lifetime guarantee from Klymit is a massive bonus as well. All in all I would recommend this product. Totally chuffed :)

A really comfortable and practically sized sleeping mat. It inflates really quickly with minimal effort and can be used on bumpy and hard surfaces with no problems. It packs into a very small bag the size of a 600ml soft drink bottle so can even be placed on the netting of a small back pack. Really quality material and will be used all over the world by me as well as after late nights in friends front rooms!

Where has this been all my backpacking life??! Let me start of by saying how much better this is than the big name sleeping pads and mats which are glorified yoga pads. The comfort this provides is leagues above them. Sure, it probably won't last as long, it is a bit more expensive, and I can't just throw it on a log and be ready, but it is worth it for a good night sleep. The claim of 10-15 breaths which I was incredibly skeptical of is completely true! I was used to blowing up air mattresses which take 15-30 minutes of non-stop puffing and this thing is the exact opposite. I'm a healthy 6 foot guy and it takes exactly 10 breaths for this to be fully inflated. I found though that 9 breaths is more comfortable as the pad has a bit more give and so feels softer while laying on it. I never knew pads like this existed and I'm so glad I do now! To pull this out of the bag it travels in in my backpack (along with a patch kit), unroll and unfold, blow up, and put in my tent takes 1 minute flat. To put back up I open the valve and roll it up quickly, unroll it, fold it in half twice lengthwise and then roll it up. There is no fighting trying to stuff this back into the back, it fits right in perfect every time. When in the sack it is the size of a nalgene bottle and weights only 18 ounces. Simply amazing! The nozzle is very high quality and is extremely easy to open, close, and blow into. I have no double it will last forever. The pad itself is also incredible strong and I really doubt I'll ever get a hole so long as I only use it in my tent, with a footprint, and properly clear the area. I'll never go backpacking without one of these pads again. Lightyears ahead of anything I knew about only a few short years ago.

Tuve oportunidad de usar la colchoneta hace unos días en un campamento de 2 noches en la huasteca potosina y no tengo más que buenos comentarios para el producto. Es muy pequeño cuando está empacado, pesa alrededor de 350 gramos así que no es un producto particularmente ligero, lo que sí es que es perfectamente funcional para dormir cómodamente. Se infla muy rápido con la válvula grande que tiene. Probablemente se infle en unas 7 u 8 exhalaciones, para nada terminas cansado o mareado. Tal vez sea un poco caro en primer instancia, pero había utilizado colchonetas inflables de la marca Intex y este las supera por mucho, en primer lugar es mucho más pequeño y ligero y, sobre todo, se infla muy fácil. Lo usé sobre un bajo sleeping de espuma delgada, como del tipo de espuma que se usa en los protectores de sol de los automóviles y funcionó perfectamente, si bien no es muy alto y pareciera que no vá a aislar las imperfecciones del terreno ya inflado está excelente, tiene buen soporte y uno duerme muy cómodo, ya sea boca arriba, boca abajo o incluso de lado. No puedo más que recomendarlo, yo batallo muchísimo para dormir en los campamentos pero esta colchoneta vale cada peso, mejor invertir un poco más que en una colchoneta sencilla de otras marcas. Incluso trae un pequeño kit para reparar ponchaduras, y un costalito para guardarlo. Realmente recomendable, no se van a arrepentir y van a descansar muy bien.
