Yamaha 5pc Shell Pack with a 20" Kick 14” Snare Drum in Natural Wood for Students and Working Drummers, (SBP0F50NW)

This kit is just the Kick, two small Tom-Toms, a Floor Tom and a Snare. I bought my wife a digital kit last year, but it lacked the "feel" of a real drum set. You have to purchase the cymbals, kick pedal and stands separately. I'll review those later, but they must be included when I review these other 5 pieces.First, the reviews were really good for this introductory kit. I watched many YouTube videos and read many Amazon reviews before settling on this. The quality is very, very good for the price, and the assembly is simple and easy to follow.Once you add the real cymbals, the game changes from a dull "thud" that you get when you strike a digital hi-hat an crash, to a real satisfying stainless steel ringing sound.Price was phenomenal for this level of quality. My wife is now more motivated to play since the set is the real deal.

These are my first drums. They sound pretty good with upgraded heads (did not like the toms out of the box even after tinkering with tuning and moon gels).My main problem with these is the color appeared more brown/orange with wood grain, but in person these are just bright orange. I wouldn't have bought these if I saw them in person.

Never ordered a drum set from Amazon before. It arrived in a timely fashion. The box had a little dent in it but the drums were fine.I have been playing these for a few weeks now... and all I can say is wow. Yamaha knows how to make drums (I can see why many top players prefer Yamaha). They are amazing. The birch wood gives a nice tone. The mounting toms and leg toms are top notch. I love the honey amber color so much! This is a amazing set for the price. It's great for jazz-metal. Just replace the drum heads for the tones you are needing. I recommend Aquarian or Evans.I bought the shell pack. I already have cymbal, hi hat, snare stands. They do come with drum mounting hardware for the toms and floor tom. If you are looking for a professional sounding kit without spending thousands of dollars. Highly recommend this kit.

I've done one gig with these so far and love them. I got them the day before our last gig and put on Remo Pinstripes over Ambassadors on the toms, and used the factory bass drum heads. I ported the front factory head and put in an Evans pillow. I tuned them up with a Tune-bot and took them to the gig without actually being able to play them. The sounded amazing from the driver's seat as well as through the PA. I used my Tama Bubinga snare so I haven't really tried out the snare that came with the kit.The hardware is the same as Yamaha's top of the line kits, the lacquered finish is impeccable, the bearing edges are smooth, and contrary to other reports the drums arrived well packed and undamaged.The only drawback to this kit is that the interior of the bass drum hoops are unfinished. I took some wipe-on polyurethane and treated them myself, because I don't want them to pick up stains or get dirty looking due to the oils on my hands from picking up the bass drum by the hoops. I knocked off a star for that since otherwise these are flawless drums.

I’ve been playing drums for 35 years and this is my favorite kit that I have ever owned.
