Pulp: Ultimate Live [DVD] [2005]

I am a huge Pulp fan and have the two concerts included on this DVD on VHS. They were originally released separately in 1996 (Feeling Called Live) and 1998 (The Park Is Mine).With the DVD version you get superior sound and vision to the VHS versions. You also get the opportunity to skip to whichever song you like with ease, rather than having to judge it with the fast forward buttons on a video recorder. You also get a video jukebox with 10 credits but I have yet to indulge myself in this.If you have never seen the Pulp live experience then this is a great look at a band in it's prime. If you have seen the VHS releases then this is a good way of updating your collection without having to buy two separate items.

As a huge Pulp fan, I'm slightly bias here, but this really is a fantastic DVD!You get two whole concerts on one disc... that's a heck of a lot of Pulp! And both concerts are from different eras of the band, and as such you get to hear a sizeable amount of their material covered. A Feeling Called Live, covers most of Different Class and His n Hers, whereas The Park is Mine features almost entirely tracks from This is Hardcore with a few thrown in from earlier releases.In both concerts Jarvis and the whole band for that matter are on top form! There's also some behind the scenes stuff interwoven in to A Feeling Called Live, which is both interesting and I found pretty distracting as well, perhaps this concert would've been better without it.However on the whole, this remains a stunning must have for any Pulp fan!

I'm an American and I bought this dvd through amazon.co.uk and received it within the estimated arrival date. (Just wanted to add that because it was something I was worried about when purchasing. The exchange rate however...).One really big appeal about Pulp is Jarvis and his performance. Sexy and cheeky. It's great seeing Pulp perform, especially since they may never do it again. I only wish there was a dvd of live performances of "We Love Life." Well, maybe I should wish that Pulp reunites.
