Scan tool
With this scan tool, I’ve been able to see and clear codes, and do a forced regen, however, I was not able to make changes to the governor settings. I’ve gone almost a year between use's and plugged the device into the port on the truck and Bluetooth connected effortlessly.

FX4000 was great until I updated firmware
Recently updated firmware and now a lot of functions are no longer available. I contacted Ancel for months and got the runaround. They are now telling me those functions were not available to begin with. I almost gave up with them be careful as they do not do anything for after sales. 👎👎

It does a lot and actually does get free updates. (tail end of 09/2022)
I saw a lot of mixed reviews on this scan tool. I was coming from an Autel ML629 which advertised free updates. I never once got an update for it and read that the ML629 only goes up to 2016 model year. When I saw that my Ancel AD410 and my Ancel BA301 were getting updates almost monthly, I said ok I'm going to stick with Ancel for their software support. I was correct. This FX4000 gets updates frequently as well. This scan tool does everything it's advertised to do. (Well everything I've tried at least.) The biggest thing I don't like it's that despite reading the VIN, the scan tool still forces you to manually pick the make, model, year, trim, and/or other features that help identify the car you're about to scan. After jumping that annoying hurtle, the scan tool is great. It's fast. This scan tool throws a lot of data at you. Which is what I wanted. The higher models do more than I imagine doing while working on cars. So this is my happy medium.

Didnt work!
I own a similar one for an OBDII and it works extremely well (it's called Fixd, and works flawlessly) so I figured hey, why not? So I purchased it and the hookup with my I-phone was flawless, unfortunately, when hooked up to my 2014 Freightliner, it couldn't give me a trouble code, turn my MIL light off or force a regen. Although it did communicate with the truck but couldn't read a code from it.

Works great, the app is difficult to navigate.
Scan tool works and I was able to clear the codes on my 2016 Tiffin Allegro Bus. The app is difficult to navigate and there are no videos on YouTube to help. I wish the app had a simulator built in so I could practice with it before plugging the scanner into the vehicle. I contacted the seller and they agreed going to try and add a simulator to the app, may be a while of course, but that would help immensely with learning how to use the scanner and get everything out of it.

... it might be my truck
So it arrived and the first one wasn't working, it didn't light up and I couldn't get it to work at all, that said I returned it and got a second one. The second powered fine and even was able to read my truck info and all that but when it came to reading codes or doing a regen odd things happened. When I read the codes it would set off my radar which I'm fairly sure wasn't factory installed and once that occurred it would fail, the same thing happened or it said not compatible. I'm not sure if it was this device or my aftermarket company installed stuff so I have to give it a 3 sorry.

when you need to access advanced tool features of an industrial diesel truck
The ANCEL HD100 Bluetooth Heavy Duty Truck Scanner is a scanner for those who are looking for a way to diagnose their diesel truck with quite a few supported manufacturer's engines. This scanner is packed with features that make it easy to use and provides accurate results in a matter of seconds once you get the device paired with your phone and have installed the necessary software. One of the standout features of the ANCEL HD100 is its Bluetooth connectivity, which allows you to connect to your smartphone or tablet device and utilize the companion app. I connected this scanner to an international truck which had been used on short trips and has lost power and generated error codes. This scanner makes it a lot easier to read and interpret the diagnostic codes, and gives a more user-friendly experience than traditional, bulky scanners. What’s even more impressive is the device’s D-P-F regen and reset capabilities. These features great to have when it comes to monitoring and addressing issues related to the diesel particulate filter (DPF). It allows you to monitor the filter status and subsequently help predict and prevent failures before they occur. I learned from this tool that the DPF needed to be regenerated and also eventually determined the EGR valve was occasionally sticking.Additionally, the ANCEL HD100 includes a Reset function, where you can easily reset the DPF regen, oil light, and other maintenance warnings.

Make sure device is compatible with your equipment!
For the price this product is well worth it and in my book it has already paid for itself when I did the first forced regen! I have a 2013 Freight Shaker with a Cummins ISX 15. Clears codes and reads deeper into ECM than I expected. It has saved me money and got me off road and home safely with the crutch of information.
