This is a superb traditional Advent calendar. Each window opens on a picture from the Christmas story, with an appropriate Bible quote on the back of the window.The paper is thin, so that the calendar can be placed in a window, to let light through the images.The Nativity scene that forms the main image is fairly ordinary, but this means that it is not too disruptive to open the windows as December proceeds.There are no gimmicks, treats, or images of elves, Christmas trees, presents and such like.This is a true Advent calendar, to be enjoyed as preparation for the Christian festival.

I bought this Advent calendar because I wanted to celebrate Christmas in a traditional way with a true representation of the Nativity. The main image is a romantic image of the Nativity scene which is exactly what I wanted. One lovely feature is that when you open the front windows there is a short quote from the Old Tantamount which is printed on the inside of the window. This is a lovely feature and provides an opportunity for reflection each day in the build up to Christmas which is exactly what I wanted. Each scene inside the windows is an image which is part of the religious narrative and is meaningful.Whilst it does meet my requirements, it is poor quality. The front of the calendar is made from thin card which bends. There is no obvious way to display it other than lean it against something, but it falls over easily in a draft. The back consists of a piece of paper glued to the cardboard. The Nativity scenes are printed on this sheet, and if you shine a light from the back it literally makes the scenes glow when viewed from the front through the windows - so that is a nice feature.An envelope is provided for the calendar, but it is constructed from very thin paper and wouldn't be suitable for posting.Overall, this is a well conceived, traditional Advent calendar and is a welcome alternative to the overtly commercial alternatives. But it should be better constructed.

This item is grossly overpriced and I have just I cannot return it - do not waste your money

This is made of very thin card, almost paper, not sure it will survive 24 days at the hands of enthusiastic children. Many of the windows already seem to be opening. For the price, I'm not impressed. I would expect to pay about 99p at the local discount store.

This is a beautiful designed and put together traditional advent calendar. Each day comes with a transparent nativity image (when held up to the light) and a biblical quote. Would definitely recommend this.

Nice picture, glad to have found a chocolate free advent calendar but this is quite poor quality, back panel had to be sellotaped back on as it was coming unstuck
