I wanted to add two handles to my DS1 setup, and for a long while was looking at the cost of building a small rig myself. However, when you add up the cost of all the components, it's actually cheaper to buy this ready-made package, by Beholder themselves! Quick pros and cons:Pros:+ Two-handed operation of the gimbal allows for shots that are much steadier than one-handed operation, especially with upside-down shots. It's also less strain on one arm, so you can shoot for longer!+ Custom made, quick-release plate stays permanently attached to DS1 and is SUCH a timesaver+ Handles can be unscrewed very quickly, allowing for super quick set-up/deconstruct time+ Surprisingly light-weight - hardly notice it's in the bag when packed up+ Unit is not very wide - allows for two-handed operation of gimbal in tight spaces, unlike larger industrial gimbals+ Has mounting holes on the handles themselves and also the rod attachments - lots of options+ Aesthetically very pleasing - looks awesome with the Beholder DS1 thanks to the matching black/red colour scheme!Cons:- Rods are 16mm diameter, whereas the industry standard is 15mm. Unfortunately this means that you cannot use most 'rig' attachments that make use of these rods - however, standard screw/clamp connectors will still work perfectly fine (clamp connector is ideal for an external monitor, as this can easily be flipped upside down if needed)- The screw on the quick-release plate that stays attached to the DS1 permanently did not seem to screw in all the way, causing my DS1 to move slightly under heavy use and I had concerns that the whole unit might accidentally detach itself. This might've just been a problem with my unit, but it has to be mentioned - and it was easily fixed by simply replacing the screw with another that I had lying around.Overall, I'd recommend this to anyone who wants to take their footage to the next level. Not only are shots smoother due to the added stability, but the use of two hands allows you to be more creative with your camera movement. All I need to do now is add an external monitor and my setup is complete!
