I would like to install one set on the front over the windshield and one set in the rear over the back door. Do they also attach to the rear?

I doubt they'll hold a light bar over the back. They attach through the roof rack so you have to loosen the two front bolts, slide these in and and then tighten up. Takes so wiggling to get the right fit depending on your light bar. I had to add some hardware to get the right fit. Looks great on my FJ.
