Good camera
This camera was very easy to set up. If you bought an SD card, first make sure it is one designed for a security video recording, and second, connect the lightbulb camera to your wi fi network, then install the SD micro card and attach your camera to the light fixture. If using outside, you most likely will need to buy an extender so the camera portion is not blocked by your light fixture. It does a great job of motion detection and tracking and you will only get alerts when a human body is detected, although it recognizes my SHih Tzu as a human, but I’m sure my dog would agree. It takes good photos at night, too. You will need the cloud service to view an HD photo of the cam shot, or to remove your SD card to view it on your laptop. Otherwise the screen shots are not in HD quality. This camera works for me as I mostly just want to be alerted when someone approaches my doors, I haven’t tried the alarm feature yet, but that will be useful when away from the house. It’s worked outside for a few weeks in rain covered under my roof. I have no idea if this will still work in frigid temperatures, but I plan to only use the camera as an indoor camera/alarm during the colder months. I am retired and home most of the time, so this is sufficient for my use. The app is easy to use and sends notifications of activity right away to my iPhone. Recommend.

Excellent Light Bulb Camera
I bought a 2 pack of the LaView light bulb cameras recently and set them up immediately on arrival. The first camera was quick and easy to set up and I had it working in 10 minutes. The second camera was dead on arrival so rather than send them both back to Amazon since one worked perfectly I went on the app and sent a message to Laview customer service. The next day I had a message from Ariel and she was just great about getting me a replacement. Plus they sent another indoor camera for my trouble. Bottom line is that Laview stood behind their products without wavering. I also must say that I’m just amazed at how well these light bulb cameras work. The picture quality is fantastic and they alert and record with any motion. They’ll even track a moving object once picked up which again is unbelievable since I paid only paid just over $60 for the pair. They do a better job than my rich brother in law’s wired camera system that he paid thousands for. The only issue I had was that the motion sensing was so powerful that it was picking up passing cars on the road in front of my house which is over 100 feet away from the camera. I solved this by changing the sensitivity level to low which stopped the recording of every car going down my road. I still pickup armadillos , rabbits, raccoons and possums if they get within 50 feet or do of the camera but I’m ok with that as I enjoy the nature show. I bought three more so with 5 of these I monitor my entire 1 acre yard and all 4 sides of my house. I did have to add a Wi-Fi satellite to my NETGEAR router to extend the range of my Wi-Fi since some of the cameras are mounted 50 feet from my house. At this low price everyone should try these. If they last a few years it’ll be the most cost effective camera system I’ve ever had.

Great cameras!!!
First I love the cameras. They screw right into the light outside my door. I was able to communicate through them view the past videos and live videos. It had a great picture. I highly recommend these cameras. Also a plus is that they are water proof which is a big plus. The app is very easy to navigate. The installation of the cameras are super easy to set up as well. If I can do it anyone can. As I am not tech savvy. Secondly, I did have some issues with both cameras I got home one day and one of them was hanging by the wires. The other wouldn’t turn left in the app when you opened it up on the control button. It would go up and down and right but not left. I contacted the company through the app chat and they responded in a timely manner. Seeing that they are located In California and it is a different time zone. They reached out to me and tried to fix the problem with the not left but since it wouldn’t fix the problem they said that they would replace both. Great customer service. The guy I talked to was very nice and even said that he was sorry he didn’t speak great English but I was able to understand him. Great company and great cameras. Highly recommend them. The cameras are not expensive so the value of the cameras are great for the price.

Fixed and Better Than Ever!
Edit: Got the replacement! It arrived super quickly. One of the two I got had a fault, but Laview went out of their way to contact me, and remind me that their products were covered by warranty. Their customer service is above and beyond to help. I'm honestly very impressed with it so far. I'm very surprised by the quality considering the price. Being able to save everything onto an SD card is so much easier than having to save it onto my phone or risk it getting lost in the cloud. My blink camera saved me from eviction at my last apartment (the landlord was an absolute creep), but I had to waste so much space saving the videos onto my phone. These cameras are so much easier, and versatile. The image quality is the same if not better than my Blink camera, and it has motion tracking. They turn and look at you if you turn it on! It's kinda cute. The set up is easy, and includes little videos to help guide you. It's all very well done, and really helps if you are new to setting one of these up. I definitely recommend these! ~~~~ I'm really conflicted about these. The one that works is wonderful. I absolutely love it. It's got a lot of options making it very versatile and I'm so happy to find something that doesn't need an additional subscription to work. They're very sensitive to movement which is great. I appreciate that you can set them to only light up when they spot something. The set up was simple, and probably the easiest of the three brands I've used so far. These would have been a five star, hands down, if one of them hadn't died a few months after I got it. I have one in my car port which is sheltered from the elements, and the other on my front porch in a semi-enclosed light fixture. The one on the porch is protected by the fixture and overhang. It was working properly until a rather fierce storm swept through. These claimed to be safe for outdoor use, but this died immediately after the first big storm hit. It was relatively well protected form direct water exposure, so I'm extremely disappointed at how susceptible it is to moisture damage. I'm going to have to find something similar that won't die from a little moisture. EDIT: Completely forgot to check for warranty. Apparently these are protected under a year long warranty. The seller got in contact with me and is working with me to set up a replacement. It sounds like perhaps the one that broke was simply faulty. These are water proof, except the bulb connecting part. I will update again later.

Not true 2K Horrible night vision, colored star vision was great!
I am a real buyer, bought this to keep an eye on my dogs in the back yard and for evil do-ers in the front yard. How do I hate this camera Let me count the ways 1. It's not true 2K. in one of the pictures the dogs are 25 feet away from the camera, this is the quality of the video when I close in just a tiny bit. I suspect is 720 at best. If you are looking for details of interest not right on the lense, forget zooming in. 2. At night the night vision is obstructed by right of light, regardless if you have the led light on or not. I live out in the country so if my back door light is not on, there is basically no light. Yet it always looked like rain drops were on the lenses. no amount of cleaning would fix that. 3. Motion Detection: garbage. unless the object to follow is less than 10 feet from the camera, it's not going to constantly pick it. it's intermittent at best. It will constantly re-target non moving targets. Even when subject is within a few feet. 4. Jerky video, constantly having trouble sending live video to my phone without it jerking motion. for example one second my dog was on the back porch, the video froze, the next frame he magically appears at the back of the yard. 5. Software continues brings up ads for their services. every time. all the time. Gets bothersome after a while. 6. Continues drops ethernet signal and resets. 7. Can't understand anything I say through the speaker 8. Siren alarm works for a few seconds at a time It's a great idea, just not a great product. Sure 2K video I should be able to digitally zoom in a bit before the quality looks like garbage. I was going to keep them, I did a lot of research on others like them, but reviews I read and photos I seen shows a nice photo or video. Therefore I'm not going to punish the manufacture for their product, I was unhappy out of the box and I am glad one died before the 30 day return time Frame was up.

Hard to beat for a bulb camera
I recently purchased the LaView 4MP Bulb Security Camera (2-pack) and I have to say, I’ve been impressed. The 355-degree view combined with 360-degree swivel provides all the flexibility I need, allowing me to monitor large areas of both the front and back yard. The security camera is wireless, and simply screws into an existing standard light fixture, making it super easy to install and use. It does require you to leave the light fixture turned on to provide continuous power to the camera, but that just makes sense and it doesn’t seem to use much electricity. Just note, you may need a socket extender if the light fixture covers any part of the camera lens as that will negatively impact the infrared night vision, even if it’s just clear glass. But that was not a big deal as extenders can be purchases from Amazon at a reasonable price. One of the things that impressed me the most is the wide angle and clarity of the 4MP camera. It provides impressive full-color images during the day and at night, it can intelligently (or you can manually) switch between infrared or starlight color mode which makes it almost look like it’s still daytime outdoors. One quick thought on this point: For a bulb camera, don’t expect to get iPhone quality images; that’s not the purpose of this product. As a security camera, the goal is to capture the largest area possible with enough detail to be aware of what is taking place in your surroundings and this product delivers that in spades. The motion detection feature is well implemented. The sensitivity can be set to the appropriate level to prevent false positives or constant alerts in high traffic areas, and the human movement detection setting is fairly accurate and further helps cut down on false alarms. It’s fun watching this little camera track a person such as a delivery driver as they walk up to the front door and drop off a package. The camera actually rotates and pivots to keep the moving target in view. That’s a very nice feature to have. The camera can be set to constantly record or only record on a detection event. If you don't want to pay for cloud storage to store these videos and images, you will need to purchase a micro-sd card to install in the camera as local storage. Fortunately, LaView provides a reasonably priced bundle that includes these cards pre-formatted. The camera contains an led light ring that lights up any moving targets at night when motion is detected according to the users desired settings. The light can also be manually switched on from the phone app. It is adequately bright for the purpose of a security camera, but if you are intending to use this product in a light fixture that you depend on frequently, I would recommend against it as it will not be as useful as a replacement for a standard light bulb. As far as durability goes, the camera seems well-built and made of quality plastics. I’m not sure how long it would hold up if directly exposed to the elements with no cover above it as provided by most outdoor light fixtures on porches and balconies. Time will tell how well it holds up outside in general, but I hope it does since I’ve come to really like this product. I was able to set up the camera in no time at all using the included instructions, and the app for the camera is available on both Android and iOS. It is intuitive and very well designed, providing all the functionality I need from a security camera in this price range. I was thrilled to find that the app can send push notifications to the Apple watch. There are more features in this product that I haven’t covered in this review, but if what I’ve already mentioned isn’t enough to persuade you to give this product a try, then I’m not sure you really need a bulb camera. Overall, I cannot recommend this product enough.

Video quality is excellent but not the best to use for an outdoor light
I really love the quality of these cameras. I like that even when zooming in, the image is clear. The app is easy to use and installation was simple. However, I do have two complaints that may be a deal breaker for me. If you turn the camera light on as you would use your porch light at night, it just looks like a camera flash or spot light rather than a porch light. It's very obviously a camera rather than a porch light. So it's a bit obnoxious and I wouldn't want it on all night. Also, there is a lag when moving the camera from the app which can be annoying. The video itself is fine, no lag. Just lags in the app when positioning the screen where you want it. It is a good quality and great deal but I need a porch light as well as a camera so I may return for that reason alone, unless I find somewhere else to put it. I would like to also mention that it comes with an outlet adapter as well so if you have outlets on the ceiling or higher on the wall, that these could work as well.

Light bulb security
So Far they are working perfectly but we did also buy the nesting boosters to help with the range . We do like they just screw into a regular light , perfect for front porch. Good price and quality
