Great for scribing microscope slide covers for model building windows
This is an off-label type use: I use these to scribe very thin microscope slide covers to make windows for HO scale model railroad structures. These work great. Some folks say you need a diamond tipped scribe to cut the slide covers for model building, but . . . these seem to work great for me. I've never used a diamond tipped one (which are more expensive), but I don't feel the need to, because these work great.

Great for the workshop
Sometimes marking with a pencil or marker will not show up, using a carbide tip to score the surface may just work out better. This pack is perfect for when you lose one, or forget one somewhere you will still have some backups. The extra tips are nice and for the little amount of work I do this should be practically a lifetime supply.You can really feel the heft of this package, it is very dense with all of the tungsten in it.Each tip comes with a rubber boot and each of the scribes have the same style boot. It doesn't stay on quite a as well since there is not as much sticking out. These do not retract or have any sort of real cap so be careful not to jab your fingers with the sharp points of these.

Precise Marking, High Quality
Glieskir’s 4 Pack Color Tungsten Carbide Scriber set comes with a whole bunch of extra tips and a small ruler. They are easy to hold and have a nice knurled grip. The points are sturdy and sharp and leave a nice impression. They also oddly came in handy when we had a bunch of balloons left over from a party - they pop the balloon enough to cause it to deflate quickly, but without causing the burst that you get with scissors, pins, knives, or other sharp implements, that often throws balloon debris all over the room.

Better then Markers or Pens!!!
One of the more functional items in my garage now. I enjoy fabricating parts. I used to use markers to mark where to cut metal. These scribes are sharp and make it easy to pen lines into the metal. I love the design of the multiple colors. I highly recommend!!!
