Stanley FMHT1-51276 16oz Fatmax Antivibe Steel Hammer - Rip Claw, Black/Yellow

Five stars for the looks and design, five stars for the price, only almost five stars for the build quality due to the glossy layer of lacquer on the entire metal surface that is susceptible of fingerprints and gets scratched easily, making the black parts look worn quickly. Overall a very sturdy hammer. I wish Stanley made smaller/lighter versions too (like 200 gram-versions for small nails) and secondly the black coloring a little less glossy, but I quess that's because of the lacquer, which again could be to prevent corrosion/rust? I would rather pay a little more for stainless steel and high quality coloring like oxidation or what it is called (like the bacho adjustable wrenches etc.) DeWalt has made one, but it is 4-5 times as expensive - not a rentable option for the occasional DIY-guy. I am very pleased with this black antivibe hammer.

Overall a great hammer, does its job well. Only concern was with the mouldings of the hammer; wasn't shaped exactly as it was supposed to be on small parts. The right claw was good allthough the left claw was slightly rounded as if the corner was chipped off whilst manufacturing.

I could have bought a cheaper hammer which did the same job but I like shiny things

Lovely sized hammer! I've owned a few different hammers during my work on site and this feels the lightest yet still the same weight as my other hammers. The straight claw is a treat every person needs, my negative would be that in time I can imagine the metal part of the hammer coming out the comforting rubber handle. Apart from that, can't fault it much more!
