Just started and will update my review as I continue to take them.
Newer updates at end of post* long read & mention of miscarriages*I will update my review as time passes taking them. I know there are other women with similar situations to mine and I want to be able to help them as many of these reviews have helped me in deciding to take these.Right now I have only been taking for a short period of time but so far so good taking them. I cannot tell any difference yet but a plus side is that I have not gotten any negative side effects (no headaches or anything like that).I originally went on birth control at a young age due to irregular periods. I had a regular 28 day cycle on birth control and surprisingly have had a regular 30 day cycle since stopping birth control 9 months ago.I have struggled with horrible acne, bloat, weight gain, cramps, and spotting both on and off birth control. The doctors tried multiple different birth controls to get everything under control and nothing has worked. I had them to ultrasounds as well and nothing came from those as well. For the last 2ish years, I have spotted 1week before my period (both on birth control and also off of birth control). Sometimes I will spot for a couple days and others I will spot the full week leading up to my period. My cramps have always been horrible. They usually last about 3 days and will be so painful that I lose sleep and will often make me fall to my knees. They really put a damper on life activities. I have also struggled with acne for my entire life. I get painful cystic acne along my jaw line, chin and cheeks.I am now 27 years old and trying to conceive. I have tracked my ovulation and I ovulate on CD 18 and its been regular. I was able to get pregnant right away but it ended in a miscarriage. I had spotted 1 week from my expected period all the way up until I actually miscarried. I had ask my doctor about getting my progesterone levels tested due to my spotting and other symptoms that I have that could be due to low progesterone. My doctor had blew this off until the week I miscarried they finally agreed to testing my progesterone. My appointment was scheduled for the day after I miscarried so at that point it was too late...After healing from the miscarriage, I decided to switch doctors and try to get pregnant again and got pregnant once again right away. Again, I started spotting the week before my expected period up until I miscarried. I called the doctor the day I got my positive pregnancy test and told them I am once again spotting and asked to please have my progesterone levels tested and I was told no, that its not routine for pregnancies but they said to come in and get my hcg levels checked. That pregnancy has also ended in a miscarriage.I have now decided to take things into my own hands as I've had TWO doctors not take any of my symptoms seriously. If I look at my chart for everything I have been to to the doctor for in the last 5 years, everything is hormone related (acne, spotting, severe PMS symptoms, miscarriages). I've decided to try and get my hormones in line on my own. I was recommended these from groups I am in on Facebook and I'm praying this is my answer. My husband and I plan to start trying again after taking these for 1 whole month.UPDATE: I just had a period and had no cramping. I have no new acne as well but still working on clearing up my acne from before.I will update again when I have more to update.SECOND UPDATE: My acne is gone for the first time in forever. It’s amazing how my skin has cleared. My mood has been great as well.I also ovulated on time as usual.BUT I have spotting since the day of ovulation. I’m going on 6 days straight of spotting now and my period isn’t due for another 8 days. I have no idea why my spotting started so early this time. Usually my spotting will start 1 week before my expected period, not 14 (directly after ovulation). I am not sure if I’ll be getting my period earlier or what. The spotting has me concerned though.Update: my acne was gone and I was so happy. It has come back and in full force. I got pregnant for the third time. It ended in another miscarriage.I spotted for a total of 16 days then had a period for 5 days.My hair is greasy all of a sudden and the acne is horrible.I’m not sure I will be able to continue use. I have an appointment next week and will be discussing with my Doctor the next steps from here.

Haven’t noticed anything positive yet
It’s probably too soon to notice but I have been faithfully taking Vitex for almost two months now. I’ve been taking this bottle of capsules plus I bought some vitex tea that I’ve been drinking. After the first week or so (of taking one pill a day, sometimes two ((the recommendation is two a day on the bottle, one in AM and again in PM)) in addition to having a cup of hot tea from another brand’s herbs) my skin started to break out on the sides of my face, which is very unusual for me.Additionally, I noticed some extreme moodiness that seemed otherwise random. Like, mentally, I was in a very low place for a couple of days. I was almost certain that it was due to the vitex because nothing else had changed. So, I backed off on my dosage and started taking only one pill a day, max, and sometimes I drink the tea too. Or if I have several cups of the tea, then I’ll avoid taking a capsule for the day. Just overall, trying to keep my dosage around at least 1000 mg per day, but not too much more— to avoid the side effects that I experienced in the beginning. Though the breakouts aren’t a huge deal, my skin scars very easily and I’d also like to avoid those unpleasant mood swings. Yikes! Neither have been issues for me since I backed off on my dosage. The reason for the vitex is because I had read some impressive success stories about vitex helping restore hormone levels and success related to pregnancy. We would like to conceive our second child and have not been successful since having our first. Also, my cycles still have not returned after over two years!Worth mentioning, I recently stopped nursing my son and I know that my prolactin hormone (milk producing hormone) was still high a few months ago because I had the levels tested. So, the high prolactin levels have likely contributed to our inability to get pregnant thus far.Though many of my friends have had no problems conceiving children while breastfeeding, most doctors will tell you that if you are having difficulty getting pregnant, it’s likely due to the high prolactin preventing the ability to conceive. After taking vitex for about a month, I stopped nursing my son (at 25 months) and it has been about a month now since weaning him.Sooo... I assume that my hormones, especially the milk producing hormone, prolactin, are now starting to level back out. My hope was that taking vitex would sort of help speed everything along. So far, after two months, I don’t feel any different from the vitex- no positive differences. The negative side effects have been some strange mood fluctuations and the breakouts (which have since cleared up, thankfully). My cycles still have not returned still and I basically feel the same as before. Also, I’ve lost a significant amount of hair since weaning my son, which is normal, but I was hoping that the vitex would help to prevent some of that. It hasn’t.For reference, my son is now 26 months, and I am 31 years young :)I’m sure it is probably too soon to expect miracles from this herb but I simply wanted to share my experience thus far in hopes that it would be helpful to others who can relate or might be taking vitex for the same reason.I’m going to continue taking vitex because I DO believe that it can help assist the body, as many testimonials from others have provided. I certainly do not expect a whole lot to change after only two months. But if my cycle still hasn’t returned after another month or so of taking this brand, I will likely switch to try another brand’s version.Hope some of my experience can be helpful to you. Best wishes!
