Airwolf The Movie is a futuristic high action adventure about an awesome billion dollar helicopter equipped with a twin-turbine drum rotor system capable of propelling it to 300 knots, plus 14 firepower options. When the helicopter is purloined by Libyan mercenaries, Michael Archangel (Alex Cord), project director of the CIA, enlists the help of Vietnam veteran Stringfellow Hawke (Jan-Michael Vincent) and his father's best friend Dominic Santini (Ernest Borgnine) in an attempt to recover the Airwolf. A deadly mission which takes them to the Middle East, where they come face to face with the enemy in a dirty battle to repossess the deadliest aerial weapon ever made. Review: Movie Over Pilot - Ive had the R18 version of the Airwolf movie on VHS for a number of years & was very disappointed when the Season One DVD Box set was released & failed to include the "Movie Cut" of the pilot. Not many people had the Movie Release & it was only ever rented on VHS in the UK, so buying it wasn't that easy. Its nice to see this on a better format (DVD/BR) But its a shame it hasn't been remastered & to Up Scale it on HD Tv's doesn't do it justice. I rate it 5 Stars because i am rating the movie. The product i would rate a 3 Star, simply because Universal Studios failed to include ANY extras at all & essentially just released this to get it out the way & stop fans nagging for it. They put zero effort into the packaging or the Transfare from tape to disk. If you own the VHS release & your looking to replace it with a DVD version, you may wish to consider buying the R1 release rather than the region 2 (apparently the USA NTSC release has an extra item, an interview with ernest borgnine) Although you would need to have a DVD player capable of playing R1 if your in a R2 country

Awesome.
Charles Henry Moffet (David Hemmings) and his crew steal a high tech Helicopter that makes an Apache gunship look as harmless as a pea shooter from the USA. A test pilot, Stringfellow Hamke played by Jan Micheal Vincent is asked by the CIA ( The Firm ) to try and retrieve the stolen helicopter. The plot is great, well worth getting just for the sake of owning this classic piece of TV history, Im not going to spoil the plot by letting you know what happens, its just too good to miss.

FOR A 31 YEAR OLD MOVIE THIS IS A GOOD VIDEO TRANSFER ! IT'S THE FIRST BLU-RAY I HAVE BOUGHT WHICH IS IN PAL 576P BLU-RAYS ARE USUALY IN NTSC 480P WHICH IS A MUCH BETTER COULOR SYSTEM . NO CRAPPY DOLBY AUDIO / COMPRESSRD SOUROUND HERE . NO DTS EITHER . THE AUDIO IS LPCM STEREO (2 CHANNEL) WHAT LET'S IT DOWN IS 4:3 ASPECT PICTURE QUALITY ? EVEN WITH YOUR BLU-RAY PLAYER & TV SET TO 16:9 FULL YOU STILL HAVE A PICTURE THAT IS BANG SLAP IN THE MIDDLE OF YOUR TV SCREEN . WHY THIS WAS PRESENTED LIKE THIS AND NOT MODIFIED TO FULL SCREEN IS A MYSTERY ? THANK GOOD FOR THE ZOOM FUNCTION ! EXTRAS ? PHOTO GALLERY - THAT'S ALL ! DECENT MOVIE THOUGH !

A great film, but poor quality Blu-ray
A classic 80’s tv show with a theme tune that still gives me goosebumps to this day. A fun story that’s an enjoyable watch. I’m only giving three stars though as this Blu-ray version is in name only, no remastering so still in grainy 4:3 format

DVD case is a bit floppy as it is out of cardboard, however quality of DVD's is great. Good buying experience, would buy again.
