Wall-E (A Little Golden Book)

Such a sweet and well-made little book! The illustrations are bright and charming, and the story captures the heart of Wall-E perfectly. Great quality for a Little Golden Book and a favorite for both kids and adults. Highly recommend!

These books are so cute and the perfect read for my toddler. They aren’t too long and take about 3-5 minutes to read. I love that they are a shorter version of the movie without taking too much detail away from the movie plot.

I purchased this for my son’s Halloween “Dress as your favorite book character” day. He was thrilled to share with his friends.

One of my favorite movies!! Little golden book brand did a great job recreating it into a book! Captured enough details in the story for it to be understandable but not so long that my kiddo is yelling for the book to be done haha.

My 4 years old son is super into the movie WallE, so we got him the book. Surprisingly, he loves WallE so much that he wants to learn how to read just through this book. But there are two problems that my son found in the book. I know, he did.. one of which was, in the movie when WallE gave Eva the plant, Eva was locked down and fell asleep, so Eva didnot have eyes showing.. but in the book, there were eyes on Eva shown.. minor problem but it bothered my son. Haha One thing I am having problem with the book was that I didnot like how the book was written and the context was really not fully related to the movie. But still I was just so happy that my son wanted to learn how to read because of this movie and this book provided him the chance.

Really love the Big (or litte) Golden book Collection, we have many of them and the girls at home love them. But in this case, what did happen to the illustrators? The drawings are very dark, very childish, rather ugly, it 's very difficult to recognize the heroes of the film and the subtlety and prettiness of the images. Besides, there is only half of the story ......

Gorgeous gift

As with all ‘Little Golden Books’, the main story has been simplified and changed here and there to appeal to a younger audience. If you are after a perfect representation of Wall-E then this book probably isn’t for you due to these changes - but in a book that is primarily used as part of a bedtime routine for a three year old (in our house anyway), it’s probably for the best. Parts of the story has been glossed over, and some bits changed, but I suppose trying to explain that an autonomous robotic spaceship captain is holding its passengers hostage and won’t let them return to Earth is probably a bit too much information to fit in one line of a children’s book, so the term ‘bad robot’ is used instead - which isn’t necessarily a bad thing! Let the children be children! :) The whimsical and heart warming story of two robots falling in love without the use of words (source material), is fantastically realised in this book through the simplified plot, and the fantastic illustrations. We have a few ‘Little Golden Books’ & a few ‘Treasure Cove Stories’, the ‘Treasure Cove Stories’ seem to be of better quality and more like a traditional ‘Hardback’, whilst the Little Golden Books are thinner, slightly smaller and feel a tad cheaper. Although this doesn’t take away from the fact that the ‘Little Golden Books’ are great books and enjoyed by both myself and our son. A really nice book that helps share an adults and child’s love for the same story, this will be a firm favourite for years to come. There are also some nice little Easter eggs in the illustrations with the inclusion of Oswald (One of Walt’s first Characters) and another with the name of the Author as Vick-E.
