Smooth and chocolatey—great with milk, a bit mild on its own
I’ve been using La Colombe’s Nizza blend as my everyday coffee for a few weeks now, and overall I really enjoy it. It’s a medium roast with a super smooth flavor. lots of chocolate, caramel, and nutty notes that make it perfect for lattes and cappuccinos. It’s not bitter at all, and there’s no weird aftertaste, which I really appreciate. When I use it for drip or French press, it’s mellow and easy to drink—definitely more on the comforting side than bold or complex. If you like coffees that are bright or fruity, this probably isn’t it. But if you’re after something warm, rich, and classic, it’s a solid pick. For espresso, it pulls nicely once you dial it in, It’s also amazing in milk drinks—the sweetness really comes through and the texture is velvety. Final thoughts: This is a great “comfort coffee.” Not flashy or fancy, but really reliable and delicious especially if you like your coffee with milk. I’ll definitely keep it in the rotation. Not cheap but tastes like it’s not cheap, which is good IMO.

Solid cup of coffee! Mild and delicious.
I really enjoyed the La Colombe Nizza Medium Roast Whole Bean Coffee. As soon as I opened the bag, the aroma was incredible and immediately made me look forward to brewing a cup. The beans themselves were not greasy, which I really appreciated. This made for a smooth, consistent grind in my machine and felt like a good indicator of quality. As for the taste, it was very enjoyable. While it wasn’t quite as strong or robust as the coffee I usually prefer, it still delivered a solid, well-balanced, and delicious cup that I would happily drink again.

Coffee is caffeine king.
If you like going to bed late or not sleeping at all, this is your coffee. It's the best tasting coffee, period. So so good. It's just too strong on caffeine. Normally great. But not anymore since I work from home now haha

Burned beans.
Disgusting and poor quality. The bag I bought was not even close to being Medium Roast...Burned to a crisp by nuclear hellfire is the more appropriate way to describe this coffee. Bitter, smoked out and nowhere near as described. Total waste of money. Seriously, how did this garbage make it through Quality Control? Starbucks can do better than this and they're terrible!

Excellent coffee for the price; my new fav!
La Colombe roasts great coffee, and this one is for us who prefer a more traditional darker roast than the 'third wave' roast styles mroe prevalent these days. Not sure why the Nizza is so affordable, esp. as a subscribe and save, but I hope it continues. I used to buy at Whole Foods, but they removed it from the shelves. I also used to buy a certain store brand which was a really good deal, but now costs as much or more than the Nizza and tastes burned. This is now my go-to. I also order their decaf from them online.

First order: delicious and flavors as described. Subsequent orders: dark, oily bitter roasts
These are the best coffee beans we've found in the past few years. Our previous favorite coffee roasters appear to have not survived the pandemic, and every brand we've tried since has tasted so thin, flat and bitter -- with some that didn't even taste recognizably like coffee -- that we were considering becoming full-time tea drinkers. But this coffee has restored our faith that it's still possible to find delicious coffee at a non-prohibitive price. Brewing the coffee using the pour-over method resulted in a lovely, full-bodied, non-acidic brew that actually tastes as the flavor notes described -- chocolaty, nutty, mellow yet robust, and not the least bit bitter. The only disappointment was that the Whole Foods order was delivered with an expired best-by date. But that's not a major complaint, as the beans are the best we've had since the end of the pandemic, and the flavor truly lives up to the nutty, chocolate-y, sweet description. MARCH 2026 UPDATE: We've now ordered these beans three additional times, through regular Amazon delivery, and the dates are much more current than the first package purchased through Whole Foods delivery. But that's about the only upside. After that first, perfect-tasting lot (even with its expired best-by date), the roast is no longer medium, and has become darker and darker with each subsequent order, bitter tasting, with a thin body. We thought we'd found our perfect coffee beans, but the beans in the pack we just opened are the darkest yet -- black, oily, and brew up very bitter and flat-tasting. Though there are still discernible nutty notes, the milk chocolate/brownie/sweet elements are missing or have been overpowered by the dark roast, We won't give up on this brand and roast just yet, and hope that our next package will taste more like our first purchase.
