Good book, so went too fast
This was such an easy book to read and understand, it went by too fast.Ideal for those wanting an overview of a complex subject and many factors that you would not expect to be covered are - the sonic boom tests- mention of the test aircraft that were specially built (now housed in the RAF Cosford museum.)I have the Concorde flight sim, I learned things from the book I will use in the sim, with thanks to my wonderful wife

Nothing else but FANTASTIC!!
Arrived in top class condition, well within time period prescribed, can not complain at all. Have not read it all yet, the portion I have gone through so far is much more clear than water, details are carefully looked at and explained. As I read every single page clarity of explanation makes me feel such as I were flying that bird. Nothing else but FANTASTIC !!!. Thanks a lot lads .A.Rangel Abraham

An excellent description of flying Concorde + its early days
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It is well written and describes Concorde's early development and flight testing in a clear and easily understood style. It contains sufficient technical detail to understand what is involved without becoming overly complicated. The sections on the tortuous negotiations required to get clearance for Concorde to fly to JFK airport make especially fascinating reading, and give a clear dsecription of the technical solutions and political horse-trading that were required. It also describes, from the point of view of an airline pilot, exactly what was involved in making a typical Concorde flight; giving a vivid feel for the level of skill and dedication required.Well worth reading, and an ideal companion to Christopher Orlebar's "official" book on Concorde.

Five Stars
Haven't read it all yet but very informative and interesting. A truly phenomenal aircraft before it's time.

Details of early commecial days
This one is very focused on Concorde entry in service at British Airways, with Mr. Calvert giving LOTS of details on what was going on back in the early commercial operations, explaining everything regarding this new phase after flight testing (that is thoroughly depicted in Brian Trubshaw's book, Concorde: The Inside Story).A must have for Concorde fans interested in operational details.

Excellent book
It's hard to put this book down. There is a lot of technical information which is explained very well for those who aren't aviation experts.Although originally written 30 years ago, the book has been updated and now includes a third section on the period after its initial publication.Highly recommended for any Concorde enthusiasts.
