Good stiff bristles. Great for use with a hard soap. This brush is not too wide as well so good if you are only paying attention to a small area of the face!

I have couple of synthetics and badger brushes, they're super soft out of the box and whip up great lather. This is my first Boar hair brush, yet I find it is most suited to my coarse, thick beard, others lather well but they're too soft. I prefer the slight scrub and sting you get from these boar bristles.First lather with this was a failure.Third time just perfect. Please note, soaking this for 5/10 mins in hot water makes all the difference. Even more so when the brush is new and the bristles haven't yet broken in.Only one hair came out of the knot first time. Seems well built and comes in a nicer box than expected. The seller was prompt and the package arrived earlier than shown on Amazon. Impressive, given it was sent from Portugal.Thanks

The extra stiffness of a boar brush over badger is perfect for anyone with a tough beard, or if you prefer a shaving soap over a cream as the brush is easier to load. The bristles will pick up more soap than a badger and be more effective in exfoliating the skin and lifting whiskers to present them for shaving.I have three Semogue boar brushes and this is the star: it is less floppy than the longer SOC brushes, and slightly stiffer than its dyed cousin, the 620. Ultimately, these choices are intensely personal as our individual beard and skin types will differ, but if you have a tough beard and/or prefer soaps over creams, I would unhesitatingly recommend this brush.
