The Dot Girl First Period Kit

I have been looking for one of these discreet little bags for my daughterI and came across this one. Moderately priced, I bought this just as a heads up...you know, just in case. My daughter, who is in middle school, read over the booklet and we discussed each page in depth. She was hesitant about reading it at first but, then enjoyed the conversation once we got into it. This will help her be prepared when the time comes so she will be a lot more confident with the upcoming situation.

This is a great little item. Bought it and my granddaughter keeps it in her school bag just in case. Comes with lots of information and supplies including a little heating pad type thing. Room enough for an extra pair of underwear.

My 9 yr old daughter and I have gone through the American Girl book, "The Care & Keeping of You," some additional internet info, and "The Dot Girl First Period Kit." This kit is very nice, smallish, well-made, and includes supplies, a heating pad, hand wipes, Q&A booklet & a way track their first year. I can see her refilling the kit and carrying it in her backpack for years. The kit is roughly 5" dia. and 1 1/2" thick. At a recent sleepover, the girls compared the kit with the information in American Girl book. I think this kit is a good healthy way for young girls to be prepared.

This is a great idea for girls getting ready to start their periods. The only criticism I have is the sample pads included are huge! (Not the thickness but the length and breadth of the pads.) Maybe they'd fit a 6' tall, large-boned amazon woman, but not a smaller woman, and definitely not a 10-12 year old girlchild. I honestly never have seen pads that large. They are way too big to fit into a young girl's underpants, and also a bit off-putting to a self-conscious new Dot Girl craving discretion.

I ordered this set for my 12 year old grand daughter who was so excited to get it. She carries it in her backpack at school and says it has been a "lifesaver". The zipper pouch is well made and holds sanitary supplies very discreetly, which is important to her. Overall a great product. I will be ordering again down the road for her sisters when they are ready.

Very nice product for a young girl (11yo) that wants to be discreet. She now calls her period, "the dot." It's a good size carrier to keep in a backpack or locker. She likes the little calendar that came with the kit.

This is an awesome kit!! And the booklet inside was SO helpful! It answered all of my tween’s questions and more! She read it at least 3 times and told me that she was nervous about her period but now she feels ready and confident about her body going through this change (which is huge for her, she’s been quite shy on this subject with me).

HIghly recomend to have on hand for that first time. Came in very handy and well received by her.
