Excellent Value!
This is an excellent kit for sharpening knives. It contains everything you need; but the best bit is the small booklet telling you how to do it! Sharpening is something of a skill - you need to work at it (and watch YouTube videos). But once sharpened, the one thing you will also need is a STEEL - a groved hard steel rod with a handle at one end. A steel enables you to keep the knife sharp without having to go through all the set-up needed for regrinding. Use the steel every time you finish using the knife to keep an edge which easily cuts paper (the test for a sharp knife!) Use the steel to that it moves TOWARDS the cutting edge of the knife. This causes "burrs" in the edge to straighten out. Grinding should only be used when the knife is really blunt. My mother only had access to a stone - so she had a very sharp knife, which was almost completely worn away (stones remove metal - the steel is much more gentle). It's a skill well worth acquiring. but make sure that anyone else who uses the knife knows what you are sharpening it/them. Otherwise, they may injure themselves.

Great stone works well
Absolutely loved this! Made all my knifes as sharp as razors and loved the rubber gripper it came with keeping it in place while using it

Decent whetstone
Don't have a lot to compare this to other than a couple of those pull through sharpeners and a random whetstone I got elsewhere that I don't trust the grit rating of so haven't used. I watched a bunch of youtube videos to learn how to use it but effectively the 1000/6000 grit combo seems like a decent place for amateur sharpeners. the knife guard is good to give a feel of the right angle but it's actually much easier to do it freehand without the guard as positioning it can be difficult for bigger knives. On my first attempt I got the knife sharp enough to easily slice through an a4 sheet of paper with the lightest of touches so that was great. It doesn't slip around with the base and guard so that's great but the one thing that is annoying which might just be a general issue with whetstones but I definitely noticed it with this one is that when you soak it before use and then start sharpening, a lot of the greenish colour comes off on the sharpening and that gets all over the base, the table, everywhere. I've seen other whetstones aren't green so I figure they might not give off so much wet green liquid but can't be sure. Anyway, maybe think about placing the whole thing on a towel (which kind of negates the rubber base) to capture any water discolouration.

Great investment for your knives
My knives perform great! Came in good condition with a manual explaining how to use it. Bought a Santoku recently from a good brand - Victorinox. Wasn't very sharp out the box though which was underwhelming. After using this for 5 minutes, after soaking it, my knife works great and glide through bell peppers and chicken. Much less strain on my wrist. Very worthwhile purchase and will save a lot of time and energy if you cook often. Doesn't slip either.

Simple to use and looks Premium
The provided guide which slips on to your knife makes getting the right angle a doddle. A bit of elbow grease (and water) and my knives are as sharp as the day I bought them. Quite a therapeutic job too!

Arrived chipped
Product accessories were great - even the towel was great and provides very solid non slip base surface in conjunction with the bamboo base, but (and it’s a big but) the thing arrived chipped which I initially thought I could live with but alas, as I was using the product for the first time I noticed other bits crumbling away. I sent it back.

Great wet stones
Great wet stones, great little set. Perfect for beginners with the two sides you can easily turn a dull blade into somthing that slices clean. Just make sure you soak your stones and use frequent amounts of water. Basic guide shows you how to start but your best off watching tutorial videos. Started on some old gardening knives to perfect the correct angle and worked my way upto sharpening the kitchen knives. Kit contains everything you need to get started without breaking the bank.

if you need just get you knife sharp and you dont have very expensive one as at pro kitchen for 200- 300 eur. it will slightly polish you knife- but get it sharp will be hard. so maybe 500- 1000 will be more optimal for home. but good quality and very good price. I do recommend for who just need some polishing expensive knifes not for everyday knife use.
