Q: What is Minimum height

After extending the legs to their second stage the minimum height of the top of the base plate is approximately eight inches from the floor. So the base of your camera will be approximately eight inches above the ground.

Q: Will this take the arca-Swiss plate currently attached to my camera?

Sorry, I don't know but the tripod comes complete with it's own removeable plate which, hopefully, just attaches to your camera base, which will then attach easily to the Velbon tripod.

Q: Is the head removable/replaceable?

No, only the mount plate is removable.

Q: Can anyone tell me if it is possible to buy just the base plate for this tripod? And if so, who sells them?

Try Wex Photographic, online. They seem to sell everything Velbon, so I'm sure they could sort you out with the part you want. Good luck.
