Diode Dynamics HitchMount Reverse Light Kit, C1

This is one cool little mounting kit! Ingenious how it clicks into the hitch receiver. You can break those tabs out (per instructions) and are able to add a locking hitch pin so it can't be stolen. Ingenious! Took about 10 minutes to install it completely. The wiring harness provided plugs into the back of the plug setup under the truck, next to the spare, leaving your original plug-ins available for a trailer. You will however need to find a place to either relocate the light or unplug it and store it in order to install a hitch to pull a trailer. Fortunately that is very rare on this vehicle, as I have a pickup to haul things with, and this kit is on our 4Runner. The tiny cube light provides a surprising amount of light for its size, and is a welcome addition to the stock reverse lights. Yay! I can see backing up! Mission accomplished!

Super easy install on my Tacoma. It took all of 3 minutes. The light works great. Haven’t seen it in the dark yet, but I expect it will be plenty bright.

Ford Bronco Outerbanks. Plug and play installation took me less than 30 minutes. Really bright makes big difference reversing at night.

Vehicle: 2025 (gen 3) Nissan Frontier with factory hitch receiver & wiring Fit: You'll need to drill out the hitch receiver to get the wiring harness through -- use a step bit/cone bit to open up the existing ~1/2" hole to ~3/4 inch and you're good to go. Pro tips: You can do it with the spare tire in place but your life will be easier if you remove it first. Getting your hands on the retention tab to release the 7-pin harness is challenging of you have big hands, and getting a drill in there to enlarge the hole in the back of the receiver is also challenging unless you have a shorty drill or angle drill. Also, use some zip ties and tie up the harness and extra wiring firmly out of the way of the spare tire or you're likely to snag it later. Function: It's quite a bit brighter than the factory reverse lights, but don't kid yourself -- it's not a light bar. You are not lighting up the night. You're adding maybe 2x more light over the factory reverse lights, and it's well-placed low to the ground so you can see directly where you're backing up. If I had it to do over, I might do a recessed light bar or maybe 3 recessed light pods in the bumper for more/wider light. This was easy mode though. Amazon weirdness: the one I ordered says "compatible with Ford Raptor 2017-2020, C1" but it's the generic 7-pin version. Not sure why Amazon calls it out as a Ford Raptor version or says it's not compatible with my vehicle. Needless to say, it fit fine.

Great product, a little pricey for what it is, but super easy to install and really adds that extra needed light. I use it on a ‘20 jeep gladiator and it really clears things up and also makes the camera much brighter and easier to see.

My only disappointment is that it is not as bright as it claims to be. Installed in 5 minutes just like the company says. Fit perfect. Functions well. But again not as bright and world-changing as some of the claims. Especially for a big truck. It's more like a double AA battery flashlight. You can see a little better but leaves some room for improvement. There are plenty of Cree led bulbs in the market that can generate some serious light, while keeping wattage low. Plenty of handheld flashlights that run in 2 cr123 (3.7v x2 = 7.4 volts combined) batteries pumping out 1200 lumens plus. Trucks run on 12v. Come on. We can do better with this brightness. Great concept. Ok execution.

Literally less than 5 min install including unpackaging it. Popped right in on my 2013 Tundra. Excellent backup light and running light to boot. I've had lots of inquiries of where I got it in the last few days since install. Now looking for the same with brake light for my 1992 Dakota with 4 pin harness.

Product quality great. Design great. Just one little alteration I would suggest. But unfortunately didn't work on the 2024 BMW X5. Not as reverse light only. Not with park lights and reverse as caused errors in car. Thinking indicators and stop lights not working. On are and pop ups on phone too. They said looking for a fix for the future so email and ask prior to purchase Return was easy. So 4 starts.

Well made and takes 5 minutes to install. Very bright as a reverse light and a running light.

The main reason I purchased this product was because the jeep JL reverse lights are terrible. Adding this light made a huge difference when reversing at night.
