Beautiful art of Fallout 4 book, it's a thick and very detailed coffee table style book perfect for any Fallout fan. Hundreds of pages of concept art showing the depth of the design for the game and all of its content. A truly wonderful gift it would make but I bought it for myself as a treat and a massive Fallout 4 fan 👍

Any Vault Dweller would be happy to get this book in their hands - worth the price for the hardcover
Stunning book for any Fallout fan. My daughter is a HUGE Fallout fan and I was a bit concerned she might be less than impressed by this book but I need not have worried. It got a big 5 star thumbs up from her - she loved it. Amazing art work and as a fan of knowing how computer games are created she loved seeing the designs and concept art> It's not cheap, but you really do get a quality book that I am sure would be welcomed by any Vault Dweller!

Excellent, excellent and excellent
All I can say is what a beauty this is. Solidly made, bound in a large hard cover with thick individual pages (all 365 of them), right off the bat you know you've got your money's worth already. The architectural detail of the power helmet and writing are backed in gloss against a flush matt black surface. Take my word for it that this was no last-minute put together job as some desperate means of cash in. These people were passionate about the world they created and it exudes right out of this totem of artistic genius. The book contents itself is essentially divided into individual chapters (Preproduction, World, Characters, Creatures, Weapons, Vehicles, Set Dressings and Illustration) with a forward by Istvan Pely, the lead art designed for the game and a credits (plus a two page-spread top down photograph of the geniuses over at Bethesda.) Each chapter showcases freehand concept sketches and paintings with commentary alongside computer-rendered graphics of Power Armor models. Todd Howard (game director) stressed attention to detail, and how that all comes together to convincingly create this world we immerse ourselves in; subway stairs, terminal buttons and weather palettes, things that half the time, when we are in the heat of battle, fighting alongside the Minutemen against six Institute coursers with Mirelurks creeping up and two Vertibirds swarming overhead to the sound of Iron Zur's Dominant Species, so easily forget. Then there are the more obvious architectures: the secretive utopian dream of Father underground, the iconic BoS's Prydwen airship overhead, Vault 75's revamping by the Gunners, Wreck of the FMS Northern Star, the Glowing Sea and Memory Den etc. One of the points Todd raised in an early interview was the importance of the world before the bombs dropped, and all of the pre-war Americana culture is really fleshed out here. You can really see the strive and detail they've gone into to home in on the apparel worn, the cars driven, the games played by the children (come across Jangles The Moon Monkey on your travels?) Mr Handy boxes, to give those Britosh toff-talking, lovable robots more character too. Those pretty awesome looking comic books that carry unique perks and benefits are printed colourfully, some on an individual full page spread. Grognak, Massachusetts Surgical, Total Hack, La Coiffe, Tesla, they're all here. And of course, the Nuka Cola advertisements too. All of this, it's important to remember, is a comical, satirical nod to the anti-communism, sexism and self-indulgence that prevailed in a stagnant world where technology and military excelled to new revolutionary heights yet society revelled in its ignorance. Simultaneously, it's a moment to fully appreciate the time and dedication these artists went through to breathe life in it all. It's a paradoxical marriage; a fluid painting in motion of hyper-violent comical imagery and sombre, dismal literature of what time and man worked with to destroy and ultimately rebuild. Fallout 4 capitalised more on the 21st Century and how, 200 years afterwards, democracy, autocracy and governmental institutions crumbled, yet the shells of their former houses and leaders remained in contextual relevance. Humanity reached a desperate new generation of survival, and groups conglomerated, each with social statuses and attitudes that ushered in and defined a new era of post-war. Their paintings are scattered across inns, bars and hotels at the Great Green Jewel and Goodneighbor. The respective old Baseball stadium at Fenway Park, akin to its nefariously shady Scollay Square, is now a bustling settlement full of rich stories and characters beautifully detailed here. If you're a die hard Fallout fan, this is a no-brainer buy. Or if you happen to know someone who is, this will make the perfect Christmas present. If it doesn't compliment the game you or they may have, it'll certainly whet their appetite for when they do nab their hands on a copy. A perfect stocking filler (assuming of course your stocking filler is lead-lined, and filled with some Cram, Salisbury Steaks and a Nuka Cola Cherry) and pinned to your brand spanking new T-51f Power Armor at Red Rocket Station. Bethesda, you have outdone yourself again. I salute thee.

The Art Of Fallout
I thought 370 pages was a typo, but no, this really is a 1.5" thick art book that you could clobber a super mutant to death with. Plenty of art here with very little empty space. Each page is well utilized, whoever put this book together knew that the 139 different unused institute uniform concepts go on one page, while each set of power armor gets it's own full page to show off the detail . Included alongside that are some interesting story-boards of gameplay, and high-polygon renders of in game models. My favourite takeaway from this book is all of the art within that features enemies and locations that never made it to the final game. It really piqued my interest to see the game that could have been. If I had to have one reservation, it's that I find the cover somewhat bland and unattractive. With a book full of bright, interesting art, I'd of preferred a cover more reminiscent of the magazines or posters featured towards the end of the book, or some of the stunner concept pieces. Now it is worth pointing out that the majority of the content within this book can be found scanned online. In my opinion the book is superior in quality to these scans, but if all you want to know is what is in the book, then those are available. But if you are a fan of the game, or just like post apocalyptic art, then this is far from a bad purchase, especially given the books current selling price.

Fantastic, beautiful book
As a fan of the fallout series, I wanted to get as much merchandise as I could. Art books are a good way to get a good look at concepts that may not make it into the final games, as well as see in detail things that you may miss or not see as closely when playing. This particular art book is absolutely packed. It is a beast of a book, very heavy and it looks great on a shelf of coffee table. I initially was not going to get it due to the high price, but I snapped it up after a price reduction and I am so glad that I did! Everything about it screams quality. The pages are thick and glossy, and the art is beautiful. This would make a stunning gift to a fallout or art fan in your life, or a great treat for yourself. Absolutely worth every penny, a fantastic book.

This was an excellent art book, and I am extremely happy with the purchase. It's 365 pages of lushly detailed, beautifully printed concept art from Fallout 4. I really enjoyed both seeing the germination of things that eventually appeared in the game, as well as the things that were brainstormed for the game but never included. Three things in particular to note: First, the detail is excellent. I particularly enjoyed going over some of the pages with a magnifying glass to see all the little intricate details of things like costumes, weapons, and robots, and seeing details that could never be included in the game without ballooning the already massive file sizes to something impossible to load. Second, particularly in the World chapter, the book has a real Star Wars feel. In particular, the concept art for makeshift shelters made from the wreckage of prewar Fallout society is conceptually very similar to Mos Eisley construction from old ship parts. Some of the costume design and weapons seem similar, more so in the concept art than even in the game itself, between Fallout and Star Wars. That probably isn't entirely coincidental, considering that both Fallout and Star Wars take inspiration from some of the same sources, particularly their similarities in the Art Deco stylings of the movie Metropolis by Fritz Lang. Third, the personality of the artists come through in the descriptions. It is obvious from their descriptions despite knowledge that many of their detailed brainstorms and concept art wouldn't make it into the final game that they were having fun just making them. The artists give detailed descriptions about how they took inspiration from several sources without copying them outright. Also, they wanted to create a game with a homogenized art structure while also having room to go off the walls a little. Overall, their joy in their work is contagious, and it's as much a joy to read about their creation of the artwork as it is to look at the artwork itself. $20-$50 might seem steep to buy a book, but this is one book that is worth your money.

Great book, good size to see a lot of detail in the artwork. Love the Fallout series and this just cements it even more. 10/10 recommend for anyone either playing the series and either playing Fallout 4 or thinking of trying out Fallout 4.
