Bath Overflow Pop-Up Waste TW21

I got this to replace the original unit installed with my bath quite a few years ago. This one looks a better item : obviously I've no evidence of durability , but it looks solid ; one of the faults with the original was the way the control was mounted on the spindle, which over time wore so that the control turned without turning the spindle (and so lifting the plug) unless it was constantly tightened; the design of this model makes that unlikely to happen. Also, on the old one, the grub screw which held the control on the spindle required an allen key, which was very tricky to use; this one has a normal screw-head, which makes it much easier. The whole thing is easy to install ; the cable etc. is all pre-assembled, so all you have to do is fit the ends to the waste and overflow outlets on the bath. An instruction page is supplied, with a clear breakdown of the whole item, plus notes - there's nothing to go wrong. Quite possibly the seals/washers provided do the job perfectly well on their own, but I used some jointing compound as well just to be sure. As mentioned in other reviews, because of the way the inner and outer elements at the waste outlet screw together, you need a pair of long-nosed pliers or something similar to tighten them up, but that's not really a problem. The only thing that took me some time, since on the old unit these elements screwed together in a different way and therefore I had to remove them completely, was removing the sealant I'd used on the original job; this time I've used a product that doesn't set hard! It all works fine, no leaks etc., so at the moment I've no hesitation in recommending it.

Bought to replace existing overflow after plastic nut disintegrated. This seems more sturdy but only time will tell. Good for the price when compared with others on the market

Very good quality and really good value for money. This was easy to install, the only issue I had was removing the old waste which had corroded. One point to note is that due to this being a pop up waste, if you have a shower in your bath at the plug end you need to be a bit careful when in use. The plug does lift out easily so I tend to keep it on the side when showering. Huge aesthetic improvement over previous waste I was using.

I’ve bought a couple of these to replace old bath wastes. They are easy to fit, seal well with no leaks, so no need to silicone around them. Great value for money, being better quality than other, more expensive, ones I’ve bought off here

I replaced a Screw Fix no brand bath waste (27022) that didn't popup when the bath was full of water with this one which is much better quality. First of all it works great, even when the bath is full (as you'd expect)! The installation is a lot easier with this one as it comes with a rubber cone shaped seal which can be used instead of silicone sealant for the plug hole. I had this installed within 25 minutes, which includes removing the old one and cleaning away the silicone sealant. You need to use a pair of long nosed pliers opened up to tighten the waste to the drain below. For the overflow it needs a spanner or a 22mm socket to fit. I found the rubber seal at the back of the overflow wasn't perfect and needed some plumbers mait to stop drips, but it's not that important as this shouldn't be used except in emergencies.

Seems fairly strong. A minor complaint was using just the sealing washer for the waste and overflow did not fully seal against leaks. I then had to disassemble and also use plumbers mate to aid sealing. Now it’s in, it does work well at a plug and bath waste.

Works a treat with a great seal. Ours was fiddly to install because theres very little clearance between the tap end of the bath and the wall, but that's down to our layout. Also our 5 year old hurt his little finger by sticking it in the screw hole while turning the knob to empty the bath, kids will be kids so be just be wary.

The product is good quality and the pop up mechanism works much better than our previous one. The fitting of the overflow was easy, but unfortunately let down by the fitting of the plug itself, as there is no easy way to tighten the fittings together to stop leakage. I had to resort to gripping the metal of the plug with pliers and twisting, which bent the inner circle so I had to then straighten that out. After testing it was still leaking and I couldn't tighten further, so started again and used a load of silicone too. Not ideal but doesn't leak now.
