Perfect solution to expand a Tower server.
This maybe just a perfect solutions to expand your Tower server, particularly the Dell T servers. The Dell T server has already a SATA power wire inside with three connectors ready to go for this enclosure once you remove the CDRom drive that comes originally with the Dell Tower server, its just swap and go. The enclosure is well made and very sturdy, and if you are looking to populate this with 12 SDD's or 2.5inch HDD, this is a turn key solutions without breaking a bank. I can only recommend this pice of kit if this is what you are after.

Well designed and easy to fit
This review is for the SilverStone SST-FS202B adapter that fits two 2.5 sata drives in the space of a 3.5 drive. I ordered and fitted it this week and so far it's been fine and I'm quite pleased. I only reduced it from 5 to 4 stars because of the lack of info: Amazon mixed up reviews of other units on the page for this one, and also it was unclear whether it would fit in my 3.5 front-panel slot, which I assume is for floppy drives rather than hard drives. It turned out that my generic tower case had long slots for the screwholes and I had no trouble attaching the adapter in the case. The action of inserting and removing the drives seems quite well designed and there is an LED for each slot that lights green if a drive is inserted and shows yellow during access. However, brief accesses, like watching a video, are invisible. Only sustained high-MB activity is perceptible. The power and signal connectors for sata1 are very close to the bottom edge. This is apparent in the photos, but I had not considered it until I came to fit the cables. You probably need to use straight (not rightangle) connectors and avoid locating the unit next to any obstruction. When you hook up the sata cables, consider the boot order of your bios. You may want to arrange the drives such that sata1 will override any internal drive, but sata2 will boot only after any internal drive.I wish the manufacturer had included some statement about the design insertion lifetime of the sata connectors, but they aren't alone in omitting that spec.Another user reports the hot-swap didn't work for him. For me running Linux, inserting a new drive is recognized by the OS, but not automagically mounted, which is OK.There is no fan or ventilation, which could be a problem in a warm climate.I don't understand what switch A5 does. The manual shows some sort of explanation on p8 which seems to say that you can disable drive access indication, but what use is that?

it works
This device shocked me how well it worked. It reduced my boot time from over 2min to about 45 sec from power on. The computer was loads more responsive and overall made the computer ran much quicker. I only purchased as stop gap before I started to buy my new pc and after seeing improvement it made me question if I needed to upgrade my pc. I have upgraded but as i say this device really does work. Even tho i am changing my pc I will keep this device as I will upgrade one of my older computers when I get a spare ssd. Its also made me respect ssd. I will never build a pc with just a hdd, the system disk will always be at minium a ssd

I would not buy it again : FS202B
It looks great and works good. Unless you figure out first that to insert drives into it takes enormous force because the mechanism inside is to allow you to easily take drives out leater. So after 6 times of inserting this mechanism (plastic) has broken and you can then insert drives easily but then you must find a way how to proceed with backward direction. I put a tape on drives and it works for me. Would I know how usless it is I had not buy it. Otherwise it works fine. Thanx.

Looks pretty but I can't get SSD drives to fit properly
So it looks nice and seems really well made. Black, brushed alu construction. Very pretty except of course you don't see it when it's mounted inside your PC. Connector layout on the rear is ok I suppose. However, after installing I couldn't for the life of me get any of my Kingston 60 or 120 gb cards to physically install. You could feel them pushing on the connector and out of alignment, there's just too much tolerance in the guide rails. Might work great but for my situation (where I'm constantly installing and removing SSD's for work) it's really not suitable.
