After years of searching I seem to have found a solution.
Update: 26 Nov 2017Instead of bothering with conforming bandages (see below) before applying the arch support, I am now using Robinson Healthcare 7163 Fast Aid Absorbent Lint, 500g which I also purchased through Amazon UK.This is absolutely perfect! A generously cut measure of the lint, folded over some 3 times, makes an absolutely perfect cushion beneath the strapping instead of having to bother wrapping/unwrapping conforming bandages around my foot first.I still *HIGHLY* recommend these arch supports.I have serious foot problems in my left foot, namely Charcot Foot due to diabetic neuropathy. So far I am resisting all efforts of medics advising me to enter hospital for a quite serious operation, followed by total immobilisation for many months and even after all *that*, no cure is guaranteed. Also, the fear of hospital infections following open wound surgery (of which I have experience) has made me resist the "advice" of said medics.Instead, I have purchased this double pack of Medipaq adjustable arch supports and they really do provide proper support and keep my crumbling arch bones from possibly eventually protruding through my fallen arch which is my greatest fear.I use them with conforming bandages first wrapped around my foot and then I wrap the adjustable support around that. It works very well and has provided much needed support for a serious foot problem. I am so happy with the support that they give that I am ordering a further pack of two so that I have plenty spares to keep my foot supported.I don't understand the negative reviews of this product. Over a long period I have purchased very many different wraps/supports/etc in an attempt to find some help for my foot problem and so far, this has proved to be the best solution. Even my foot specialist was impressed at my last appointment when I removed the arch support and instead of seeing the usual "lump" of bones protruding from my collapsed arch, he saw an almost normal shaped foot.Of course, as he said, "That support is no cure, but if you are happy with it and you keep checking that it is not too tight on your foot, well, I'm not going to tell you to stop using it!"It works for me. And it is so cheap as to be almost unbelievable in a cost/helpful ratio price. I highly recommend these arch supports *if* you know what you are doing.
