A must read for those who are engaged and leading onto marriage
This book has truly opened my eyes to the importance of discussing not only with your partner about the next steps of marriage, but talking about the difficult moments one has encountered and sharing personal information with wisdom, with the aim to bring clarity, peace and unity before saying 'I do.' It is also important to understand the family you are marrying into as you aren't just marrying your spouse, but their entire household. I am so glad I got this book and look forward to going over the notes again. It's very important to get this book if you are contemplating on having a Godly married life that will last.

A single reading this
I bought this as a single and not yet in a relationship to prepare myself for when/if the time comes. The book is naturally geared for couples however I captured and learnt a lot of the issues that needs to be talked about, addressed asked before fully committing to your partner. I can apply some to even other relationships I have. Some things I already knew but others I would never have looked at/thought of. I will be reading it again! I recommended it to both a married friend and my sister who is engaged and they have both purchased it and find it a good read.

A must read for those couples desiring marriage.
A great book to read for those considering marriage and that are engaged. It’s best to read with the person you intend to marry. It will bless you and raise topics you probably didn’t think were so important. It also helps you understand your character more and appreciate those with different character traits - this was my favourite part. The reflection questions were also great. I would highly recommend this book.

A real help for marriage preparation and beyond...
I picked up this book for my finance and I. As a christian couple we were looking for practical help in preparing ourselves for marriage, something that reflected scriptural teachings. I don't know if Dr Chapman believes exactly the things that we do, but this is absolutely irrelevant because the book he's written is honest, deals with potentially very tricky & stressful issues that couples should bear in mind and plan for.I'm going to buy a copy for every couple in our circle of friends who gets married....it's already been of great help to us!

Great book
This book discusses very important topics which I think couples would do well to be aware of before tying the knot. There were things I hadn't even thought about, things I had simply assumed who would do it e.g. who would clean the toilet / do the dishes (yep, dishes have to be done lol).I learnt that love alone is not an adequate foundation, forgiveness is not a feeling, communication is key and a plan is needed for handling money, and also that it's not just marrying the individual but marrying into a family as family dynamics play a role.
