Review of the Plantronics Voyager Legend UC (B235 Standard)
First, be aware that there are several different products you can buy that start with the words “Plantronics Voyager Legend”. The variant that I’m reviewing is the Unified Communications (UC) model, which comes complete with a charging case and desktop charging stand.More importantly though, the headset includes a dedicated Bluetooth dongle that allows you to use the device as a PC headset and mobile phone headset at a press of the button on the headset. The headsetThe build quality of the headset is first class. The fit is very comfortable. The battery life is very good.I really don’t like holding mobile phones to my ear, so I have owned several Bluetooth headsets in the past, the latest one being the jawbone era. I have several friends who complained to me about the audio quality while using Bluetooth, even in a quiet room, so when I received it I was anxious to know what they thought of this one.The good news is that the audio quality for this headset is a significant improvement on anything I have had in the past.To get the most out of this headset I think you will need a phone with Bluetooth 3.0 and wideband audio capabilities. You also need to hook the headset up to a computer and enable wideband audio in the headset in order to get this level of quality. While I was doing this I also received the latest firmware update which addresses previous poor performance in windy conditions. The PC connectionI use Dragon NaturallySpeaking for voice dictation on my computer and have been looking for a long time for a wireless headset with this setup. This headset has apparently been certified by Nuance with 4/5 Dragons.Having bought the headset to use with my mobile phone I was blown away by the fact that this headset provides good solid speech recognition with the computer.Because there is a dedicated Bluetooth dongle, I can just plug this into any of the computers I’m using and it will be recognised as a headset. I installed the Spokes Software on each of the machines I’m using, plugged the dongle in and hey presto.Swapping between the mobile phone and the PC connection is a simple press of the button on the headset. The accessoriesAs already mentioned, this headset comes with some very useful accessories. The charging case is the perfect way to protect the headset while not in use; it will also recharge it using its internal battery, and keep the dongle safe at the same time. Despite hearing in other reviews that the desktop charging base was lightweight, in fact it’s very well-designed and ergonomic. The kit also includes a mini USB charging lead and a detachable magnetic charging adapter for the headset. This means that you will not have to carry yet another cable around with you when travelling, just the charging dongle, together with a keepsake strap so you don’t lose it.Considering that the headset on its own is retailing around the £50 mark, I would recommend anybody spend the extra £40 for what is included in this package.

Outstanding Headset
I bought this because I was switching from Bt to VOIP an wanted to be able to make & receive calls from my computer using a softphone.I had a bad experience with Bluetooth headsets in the past and therefore decided to avoid the cheaper products. I'm more than pleased with it. Setup is straightforward, battery life is excellent ( 7 hours talk time ), sound quality very good, bluetooth works at a reasonable distance and its comfortable to wear.It works with more than one firm simultaneously so I can also pick up 7 make mobile phone calls when in the office. Its great to have both hands free.I also use it in the car as its better sound quality than my Range Rover hands free.It comes with good accessories including a charging case which will 100% charge the headset on the move. If I have one slight criticism ( and they are difficult to find ) this case could be a little more robust or include a soft protective pouch.

The best I have ever had and with a bonus surprise that you need to know about...
When I was choosing a new bluetooth headset I had just one thing in mind...quality. I'd had the cheap Nokia and Jabra ones before and whilst build quality was good, comfort on the ear was not.So, I came across this model. At £100 it isn't cheap but I was swayed by its compatibility with Skype as I use this a lot when working from home - it also pairs with my blackberry so looked good. However, at £100 I wasn't wanting to carry it around without a case so I saw the nifty charging case but at an additional £40 I thought it was too much.Anyway, roll on delivery day and it turns out that this package comes with the aforementioned charging case - so you get the whole lot for £100. I couldn't find any mention of this in the advert on Amazon. It also comes with a desktop charger and a USB/wall charger - so three charging options included! And that magnetic join between charger and headset feels good - like the magsafe connector on a macbook pro.So, in using it for a day or so I have to say it feels good - sound quality is very good and the battery lasted all day.For the money, Plantronics have got this right and I cannot rate it highly enough.
