FIFA 17 simply the best footy game ever!
HiI have played FIFA 17 on both the Xbox 1 and also the PS4.The following review covers both editions.Having played FIFA for many years I know my football games. You would tend to think this game would just be the same as the last version however I would have to say while in some ways it is I would say this is easily the best football game I have ever played. The reasons for this are as follows:Graphics: FIFA 17 graphics are very detailed, the players look very like the real characters and players, not just your Messi and big players either, even players from much smaller clubs than Barcelona etc.Gameplay: FIFA 17 gameplay is sleek realistic and simple to get used to. Playing a 1 player management game on it is fantastic, easily the best management game I have played, so realistic in that the best way to make a successful team is to invest in youths. You can strengthen individual player attributes by giving them specific training drills. The stronger they become the more their value goes up. It's truly awesome. The commentary and referees are fantastic, I guess that's not realistic then ! HahaONLINE : Online gameplay is also fantastic, I have never lost conection ever. Play friends or strangers from all over the world and work your way up the leaguesCons: only fault I can think of is it's not the easiest to invite a friend to play online. It is possible and it works fab one you figure out how to do it.I would 100% recommend FIFA 17.

Fantastic
Purchased this for my boyfriend for our anniversary and it conveniently came out the next day.Purchased on pre order and was a bit worried about how and when it would arrive. It came on time during the day to my boyfriends work place so he had it as soon as he got home, he was very excited and I can only applaud Amazon for noticing it was a work place address and delivered during working hours. The game is great the graphics are incredible, we were watching live football the other day and I couldn't believe the quality of FIFA I kept saying this looks just like FIFA ! The journey element too is great fun and is just so much better from the last!

FIFA's back, somewhat, I'd say.
I'd been a little on the edge about buying the game on release day because I hadn't had any hands on experience or watched many videos before placing the order so in a way was buying blind and £40 or thereabouts is no small amount of money to simply throwaway on a game and not blink twice. I'll say that after playing the game since release day, time permitting, in my view I currently view it as a worthwhile investment and am of the mindset that it will take some doing in FIFA 18 to make that worth buying, see what they can come up with next. I'd been playing FIFA 14 for an age and hadn't bothered with 15/16 because of the reviews but feel that at last there's finally a modern FIFA that ticks all the boxes, hopefully it lasts as long as 14 did.I started playing career mode but quickly grew annoyed at not being able to grasp the new defence system so turned my way towards The Story to play as Alex Hunter. I'd recommend that anyone plays this mode before others because it teaches you how to play the game in terms of having training days for all different types of scenarios. You get to progress not only with Alex but in your ability to play the game, might save some frustration is all. The story was enjoyable, and yes I've now finished it, but do feel that it could have been longer and hopefully will get some updates in the future. I feel that if The Story does not get any updates then it's a great shame and will have gone to waste. It's good as it is but 16 hours est to complete is far too short for any real enthusiast and even I who only now plays an hour or two here and there managed to get it over with fairly quickly, I felt that I was only really begging to look forward to more cut scenes and story advancements when it ended and I'd unlocked Alex for FUT and that was it. What do I do next?Career mode I feel it's too soon to comment on in terms of how much I've played but it has the same old repeated commentary, game introduction so on and so forth. If anything it's just nice to have modern teams in a playable FIFA. Female leagues are nice edition and a first to my knowledge but again limited gameplay. Something different I suppose.Defending is somewhat annoying and takes real getting used to. I'm going to go ahead and state it's either a love or hate thing that will make you want to either keep the game or throw it away because it can get frustrating to start with. I must expand in that FIFA thinks it a good idea, and maybe more realistic, to make it so that you have to time your tackles perfectly. I've got many a yellow card attempting a slide tackle because it seems all it does now is take the player out and even when you touch the ball the ref blows the whistle, I've given up. Attempting the regular old B button press tackle to get the ball is different in this game and takes some adjustment, you have to time it and plan ahead rather than just being able to walk up and get the ball, I've spent so long playing FIFA 14 I prefer the latter. I've conceded goals and through "in FIFA 14 that was so avoidable." Take the bad and hope there's more good. I did find it easier to run around in a circle and find myself a mile away from the player I wanted to tackle rather than getting the ball, game seems to have a habit of allow the CPU to simply stop turn and go in the other direction meanwhile your player goes of in a different direction. There is the option for Legacy Defending but within minutes of putting that on I was back on the pause menu to go back to how the system in this game should be, couldn't wrap me head around how horrible it was and what on earth was going on, definatley needs work in my opinion at present.Passing's fine, no real trouble, assisted anyway. Penalties has a new system whereby you push the left anolog stick to run forward and then power up by shooting once you're running forward, worthwhile training in Story Mode or otherwise in a set piece to get the hang of it as it can seem like a "oh what in the world is all this" when you take your first pen, expect to sky it. Free kicks where ok in Story Mode and easy to get the hang of. Scored my first one in the first game you plan as Man U (?) but beyond that no such luck. Corners are different in that holding the left stick still while attempting to take the corner can be a pain and I've just hoped for the best since it seems to move around all over the place regardless of where you want it to go anyway. Not entirley sure I approve of the games mechanisms changes vs older version even if graphics, stability and other things have been improved.Players seem to have common sense and don't run regardless towards the touchline when the ball goes out, seems the CPU's got some knowledge and given up when it's obvious where it's heading, could be annoying in past FIFA's when you'd loose a throw in because of it being the other way around in previous versions so that's a welcome addition. Crowds, managers etc all have faces and are an active part of the game at long last.FIFA's back, somewhat, I'd say.More Alex Hunter needed.

Slight improvment on fifa 16
The game came on time after I had pre orderd. Game itself is ok. Abit better than last years edition which I got rid off soon after. Still alot of things that could have been improved. So much time seems spent on ultimate team and getting people to buy the packs that they seem to neglect the actual game play. After playing pro evo this year I probably should opted for that but I just cant bring my self to play a career mode whith West Midlands Village instead of a licensed Villa team.

Impressed
First of all I'm a football manger fan and I went off the EA football games a good few years ago,But I seen this new addition to the EA franchise I read the reviews and watched a few people play it on twitch and I've got to say I was very impressed by it! Not played Fifa for awhile so the controls were abit difficult at first but after practicing I soon got the knack and things started to click, the graphics are stunning and the game play is as beautiful as the beautiful game it's self. I started the Alex hunter journey game and it's amazing! You really feel like you are becoming a footballer with the training and the highs and lows, come on as a sub and change the game or come on and have an absolute stinker, you really have to train and hone your skills and it's worth it. Ohh and the commentary is pretty good too. So if I can be converted to play FIFA football games again I'm pretty sure most will... I'd of given 10 stars if I could because it is that good! Well done EA!
