Welcome Upgrade To My EDC
In Short: The Huntsman is a Swiss Army Knife, it is well built and well worth the price. I carry my SAK everyday and everywhere (unless explicitly prohibited). A SAK is an indispensable tool and for good reason. With an SAK and a lot of creative know-how , a lot of day-to-day problems are easily overcome, whether in a wilderness setting or in an urban environment. My SAK has served me well on several Scout Campouts as well as in the office. My SAK has worked in several capacities, from basic cutting tasks (opening packages and sharpening pencils) , to tightening or loosening screws, to prying open stuck knots, to opening cans of soup or beans or tuna for meals in camp or at the office. Opening food cans is probably the second most common task my SAK performs. The Huntsman is a step up from my previous EDC, a Spartan, which will now serve as a spare knife in my rucksack. I chose the Huntsman primarily for the additional saw and scissors. These tools will add more versatility to my EDC. The Huntsman is built as solidly as any SAK that I have previously owned, and the tools it contains are of excellent design and quality. The blades on the Huntsman, like my other SAKs, came hair-shaving sharp. A quick search on Youtube (strongly recommended ) will demonstrate the multiple possible uses of the Huntsman SAK. The scissors and saw are sharp, and will be handy in the field, or at work. These scissors can be used in a number of situations, such as cutting moleskin to cover a blister, or in tying a fly. The saw will be helpful in a number of whittling and wood working tasks such as making a button out of antler (with a little help from the awl) , or making a tool to process a plastic bottle into cordage. The package hook also has a number of possible uses, some obvious, and others, not so much, and will definitely be handy. While some many prefer a much more expensive multi-tool, I find an SAK , especially the Huntsman, is much better suited for my day-to-day tasks. There's no question that a multi-tool may be more rugged, but that extra ruggedness comes at the cost of extra bulk and weight. I find an SAK to be more than adequate in most situations, as it is quite capable as long as it is used within its limitations. If the job strains the limits of the tool, its time to get a specialized tool. I find that my SAK is more useful for a multitude of tasks than is a common tactical folder. The SAK also draws less unwanted attention as it rides quietly and invisibly in my pocket. Over the years, I have carried several different styles of tactical knives and multi-tools. However, the tool I have carried most and that is most likely to accompany me everyday, and everywhere is my SAK. I really feel uncomfortable if I have to to leave home without mine.

Really great knife.
I am not an outdoorsman by trade, but I appreciate nature and being able to take care of ones self in it and in the day to day. I life multifunction items, that actually works and is helpful for a multitude of tasks. This checks all those boxes. I love the black scales. Though not the iconic red, still very nice. This has all the tools you could need in urban life and for small fishing or camping trips, maybe hiking. The blades and tools are basically steel but very reliable and easy to sharpen. The size is nice, big enough to work, small enough to easily carry. The blades are sharp and the tools work good for their intended purposes. Just remember what this thing is for,it's a pocket knife. For small and slightly bigger jobs. Opening packages, fishing activities, fire making etc. The saw for example is extremely nice and sharp. It could probably cut kindling up to an inch thick, maybe a bit more. Feather stick nicely etc. Has a nice selection of tools like wire stripper, flat and phillips head, bottle and can opener, awl, cork screw, tweezers, tooth pick, parcel hook etc. I think the toothpick is the most useless of them all, but as many pointed out, you can replace it with several tools, like small fire steel. You can feel the quality of it. As long as you don't judge it against bigger, heavy duty knives for harder purposes, like splitting wood, you can't find more value for money. Big recommend.

Misleading product description by vendor.
The description says "in red". That is not true. The knives shipped by this vendor have black scales. The knife is great, but if you want red, don't buy from this vendor.

First-class choice for hiking and camping
I've owned and carried a lot of pocket knives over the years, from an inexpensive stockman inherited from my grandfather, to high-end lock blades with modern super steels. But I always come back to the Swiss Army Knife. They are reliable and durable knives that can last for years - and so useful. The Huntsman is a particularly good combination of weight (3.4oz) and size (3.58in/91mm) versus utility. I can't imagine getting along without the main blade, scissors, and wood saw, especially when outdoors. I also find use for the mini-screwdriver that stores in the corkscrew for things like tightening eyeglass screws. If you plan to hike and camp much, this knife will pay for itself many times over.

True Pocket Companion...
The word, "indispensable" comes to mind when thinking about this amazing tool. I have this wherever I go, no matter where I go. It's a perfect size, not too big, not too small. The blades are a great size and sharp and rugged. The scissors are especially nice in the Huntsman. Big enough to actually use as your normal scissors, not just for little tiny jobs. The wood saw is actually a nice addition to this model as well. My only beef is that, it's length is a tad shorter than you'd like, but with only a bit more effort, it works and works well. It's sharp too and definitely is no toy! The corkscrew I wasn't sure about, but it's nice to have on there for the eventuality - it doesn't snag in your pocket nor adds any unwieldiness to the knife. It's a nice addition to have at the ready. The weight of the knife is excellent, the build quality superb - just what you'd expect from Victorinox. My only improvement I'd make is on the case... sturdy, fine, and no fundamental problems with it, but it has a tendency to look worn in a shorter time than you'd expect and it scuffs easily if dropped and the only reason why I dropped it a perfect score of five stars to four. You can't go wrong with this excellent tool companion and Amazon certainly has the best price out there.

Versatility
It’s a horrible photo, but honestly, even the most captivating photo won’t capture its actual potential. I found my new EDC, sorry not sorry benchmade. This knife will slice, dice, open, screw, cut (scissors), punch (AWL), and pry amongst a couple of its applications. The point of this EDC to me is that I’m not carrying my knife and emergency tool kit once I leave my truck. I thought the Officier Suisse engraving was for a cop so I ordered a replacement. After research, I realized it was an authentic stamp from Vitorinox so I kept and paid for the replacement. The replacement is now snug next to my wife’s snub nose .38 in her purse. You won’t outlive this knife. Your grandkids will still be able to use it and possibly their kids. This $60 knife isn’t a “you get what you paid for” scenario. It’s a “they could have charged more for this easily” scenario. I had a smaller SAK as a child, and didn’t think twice about getting one as an adult. Not until I see a knockoff in a pawn shop this past weekend. My search and needs in a knife led me straight to this one. I couldn’t be happier, honestly.
