Extremely useful
I can't believe I purchased this in 2013 and it's still looking almost new. Okay, it's plastic, which should be pretty obvious. There are spaces for pots of paint, brushes and tools and a reasonably size work area. Two slightly curved panels will stop pieces rolling away across a work surface and this is excellent for making small models. Especially useful if you have limited space or cannot set up a permanent work station for modelling and painting. This is very light, so you can even work with it on your lap if necessary. At the time of purchase we lived in a very small house, where space was a premium and it was impossible even to have a table standing permanently. Everything had to fold flat or be suitable to pack away. This was an absolute godsend back then and I can't imagine coping without it. Now, several years later we are in a larger property and I have a more permanent workstation. This still gets some use though, and my son took to using it for his Warhammer models for a while. I can't see any reason why it can't be used for other crafts though. If you are intending to use a knife on models, I would recommend getting a small self-healing cutting mat to sit on this, as you will damage the plastic otherwise and that reduces it's usefulness. For the fact that it's plastic, this is surprisingly solid and is a good stable work area for making models. With the paint pot supports at the back it helps to reduce the chance of knocking a tin of paint over, thereby reducing the amount of death threats that issue from house proud mothers and wives. This was a good purchase that has provided a great deal of assistance for myself and the kids with modelling. It has also gone a long way to making the wife happy, as it keeps everything ordered, organised and tidy - and very little associated mess. That makes it worth every penny.

Excellent bit of kit
Does exactly what it says on the tin (well box). I had been looking for a new paint station for my models and one that would fit on my desk in front of my monitor and keyboard. This is the perfect solution and very lightweight and portable, I bought an A4 cutting mat for the central part and would suggest to use a light double sided tape (easy to peel off if replacing mat) to secure it as it can fall out when either transporting it or putting it back in the box. Also perfect for holding the instructions that come with models, as I’m sure we can all agree that the instructions always get in the way if you haven’t got a massive desk/workstation. My only small gripe is that the “universal paint holders” are literally humbrol paint pot sizes only but as I said it’s a small issue and can be filled in with a little bit of polystyrene or foam discs. Would definitely buy again if ever needed and highly recommend.

Does the job!
My son is into Airfix models and we were frustrated that our kitchen trays were slowly getting paint and glue on them as he used them to protect the table where he works. This tray has resolved that brilliantly. The Humbrol cutting mat (worth purchasing) sits inside this tray as do the pains, brushes and glue - all in one place. Great design and a success with son and parents too! Not sure that it can be scored as 'fun' but given that it encourages him to do his airfix models I guess it is - he certainly gets a great deal of enjoyment from making the models - the tray just assits.

Keeps your modelling tidy, safe and so everyone’s happy!
This is a really useful piece of kit. I’m a novice and I love it. Here’s my three reasons: 1. If you don’t have the luxury of a desk or surface you can sprawl out with all your paints, tools and paraphernalia this is allows you to keep everything in one place and move it around as you need it. Thus keeping other members of the household happier because your modelling is self contained. 2. It is well designed. The Humbrol A4 cutting mat fits perfectly in it so you then have a great space for cutting on safely. Lots of of pot holes for paints and glue too. 3. It is sturdy and grips well on the table you’re working on. You don’t need newspaper unless you’re working on an enormous model that won’t fit on the cutting mat. Summary: ideal for all modellers but makes it a lot easier if you’re a novice. I bought the cutting mat (a4) and the small Humbrol tool kit. All complement each other perfectly and are all you need.

Awesome Thought-out Product
This is a quality well thought out workstation for modelling, A4 cutting Matt was included in my purchase as an added bonus, room for tools paints and brushes love the fact you can put it on your lap as its shaped underneath great for winter nights on the sofa doing a little modelling whilst listening to radio or even watching TV. The price is very surprising too I thought it is priced too low, but hey great for customers. Humbrol have the leading edge I think with this product. John

Perfect for so many uses
I bought this for my husband to use whilst he paints his models but sadly for him it's not made it into his Manshed yet as I keep 'borrowing' it to use whilst making my jewellery and other crafty things. It's sturdy and with a cutting mat a fab and much needed addition to anyone to enjoys making things tool collection. The paint holders are the perfect size for humbrol paints of course but also for other pots to keep beads etc in and the grooves accommodate tools. I admit I was worried it would be too flimsy but worry not it's perfect. I highly recommend this to any modeler/ crafter.

Perfect for any scale modeller.
Great tray. Mine was a little warped but not an issue. Nice cut outs which allow you to rest on your lap too which was an unknown feature. So far the station has withstood paint, thinners, decal fix and glue which has all wiped away without damage. A few more paint holders would be better. I use 1:48 scale which does fit ok. Probably more spacious for 1:72 models. Very handy that there is a area for everything and it's easy to pick up!
