All the sides work perfectly well. I love the design and it serves purpose too.

This is such a versatile grater for a variety of foods. The handle grip doesn’t slip in my hands and the base is wide and has a slip reducing edge that it doesn’t move around while grating foods. It is sharp so while some pressure is needed I don’t feel like I finished an arm workout just by grating potatoes or carrots. It handles cheeses nicely and there is a fine section if finely grated hard cheeses are needed.The design is genius. The shape allows the user to grate something like carrots on one side, rotate and grate cheese on another, turn again and do some other veggie or cheese and as long as you don’t need the same size grate there is no need to stop and clean it until everything is done.The only downfall is that if the finer sides are used it it a bit harder to clean them. I don’t put it in the dishwasher and hand wash only because I don’t want to lose the sharpness to quickly (don’t put my knives in a dishwasher for the same reason). This is only a minor nuisance as there are way more benefits.

I got this to replace a grater that had a little plastic bin attached. I thought I would miss having a built in catcher, but honestly I prefer this grater.1. It stays in place (I put it on a large dinner plate.)2. There's plenty of room for the grated cheese to fit inside without having to clear it (I can do 8 oz without moving the grater.)3. I can easily fit my hand inside to brush off any cheese inside the grater.4. The blades are very sharp and the width is perfect for an 8 oz block of cheese, making grating go very quickly.5. We've run it through the dishwasher multiple times, on the bottom rack even, and the black gripper strip around the bottom looks just like new.There are also more blade options than typical graters, but so far I've only used two. That wasn't the big selling point for me, but it is nice to have options. I just like it because it's easy to use, cleans up well, and makes quick work of cheese grating. PS - I prefer to grate my own cheese partly for cost (and space) savings, but mostly because pre-grated cheese has more exposed surface area and tends to mold if I don't use it up quickly. I don't have that issue with block cheese, even when I buy 2 lb blocks.

Speaking as a former line cook, I didn't know I needed this before I bought it - glad I did!This unit replaces several slicers-graters in your home kitchen. Well made, nice gauge of stainless steel, easy to clean (just rinse).IMO, much safer to use than a traditional Mandoline, because you can control the angle with one hand as you slice, dice or mince with the other. Good value for the money.

This awesome slicer by Utopia Kitchen is an absolute must-have item in every kitchen! I slice all sorts of things in it-potatoes, onions, garlic, cucumbers. I used to have a similar grater before, but it had only 4 sides and lacked the slip-preventing bottom (which, by the way, works just as advertised). I like the slightly rubbery handle too, it further helps in keeping the thing steady. I mainly use 3 of the total 6 sides because of my cooking style, thanks to all the different types of holes I don't have search for a different slicer when I want things to be cut a little bigger/smaller.One thing I love is how safe it is. It is actually pretty hard to injure your hands when slicing things unless you're really distracted. The edges are sharp and result in cleanly sliced food, yet they are designed in some magical way that keeps them from nicking your skin and makes the product quite easy to clean. The wide base and the large amount of space inside makes it even easier to reach inside to wipe remaining scraps.My friends have used this when came over to my house, and they were deeply disappointed that this product is no longer available to purchase on amazon. I hope more stock arrives soon!

The media could not be loaded. I just tested this grater on some cheese and as you can see from the video it grates cheese in a number of different sizes.I found one size that I liked and will probably use that the most.When trying to grate the cheese using the slicer side I was having difficulty until I realized that as shipped the hole was not open all the way so it was easy for me to push it open with my finger.I will be using this to grate more than cheese and will also try some vegetables in the future.
