Owned a 2008 Mac Pro for several years along with this 27" LED Cinema Display from Apple. Recently built a PC for the first time and thought I'd be putting this Apple display away for good as it can't directly connect to most modern graphics cards. Quickly found this adapter and it worked straight away like a charm. No hassle. Nothing to install. Just adapt and play away! Recommend downloading the brightness controller that a person made for displays like these on windows, otherwise the monitor will be rather dim when you initially plug it in (still usable).

Some Apple monitors (and Apple monitor adapters) require a mini display port connection. This well made, simple cable provide the necessary adaptation to allow them to be used with a standard size display port.

Used to connect a Apple LED cinema display (the one with a mini displayport cable) to a Dell desktop. Seems to work fine but very very overpriced for what it is, like a great many things on Amazon these days, you pay for prime delivery twice, once by subscription and again through artificially high prices.

I bought this for my Apple Cinema display, does what it does and works perfectly, the price is also very good, much cheaper than my local Maplins so all in all I'm very happy. A little extra info, I am using this with the GTX Titan X so if anyone runes into the same issue with mini displayport and has the same configuration as me then I hope this information is useful to you.

I used it to convert Display port to a mini display port output because I only have a minidisplay port to DVI cable. It works very well. Build quality is good. Comes in startech resealable bag.

I was looking for a way to get my Apple 27" Cinema Display (non Thunderbolt) to connect to my new 2017 MacBook Pro which only has USB-C sockets. Apple told me that it wasn't supported so probably wouldn't work. Well this works really well together with VicTop Type C to DisplayPort Adapter, USB 3.1 USB C to DP Cable Adapter Converter 1080P for Apple MacBook 2015/2016, MacBook Pro 2016, Google ChromeBook Pixel 2015, Asus Zen AiO . Crips display, no flickering and no missing rows of pixels. Only thing I would say is that the MiniDisplayPort socket needed a little tweak as it wasn't sitting flush with the plastic housing. Yes it looks and feels a bit cheap but it works and means I can still use this fantastic display.

The adaptor works, but not very well. I have to keep disconnecting and reinserting the adaptor multiple time before it works. The build quality also see very poor, like it could break apart at any moment.

I bought this to plug my company Lenovo X220 into the MDP input on my iMac Mid 2010. Works perfectly. Bought this over the Startech DP to MDP cable because all of the people complaining of mobile phone interference with the cable, tested the adapter with my iPhone - no interference at all! (Using with Belkin MDP - MDP cable.)

This is a perfect adapter for connecting proprietary cinema display of apple with pc or upgraded Mac Pro desktops with nvidia cards like gtx 960,9xx and even Pascal cards. The vendor has great service. Parcel was delivered before time . Ibhejo was helpful enough to answer the queries about parcel as the adapter is shipped from America. iSight and sound of cinema display both are supported by the adapter.

I've recently build my pc and I wanted to connect my apple monitor to the GPU! I can't express how much I'm happy with StarTech converter. It solved the issue connected and here we go. I'm also very happy with the fast delivery and the packaging. You guys rock \m/

We have just updated a work laptop from apple macbook to a dell laptop and I wanted to connect the 24in Apple Cinema display to this new dell laptop. This was a lot more complicated that I had expected since the apple cinema display uses mini display port and the dell laptop only had one VGA and three USB ports. So I looked into connecting it to the VGA port but that is very very complicated since VGA is an analog signal and the mini display port is a digital signal just buying a vga to mini display port connector is not enough you have to actually convert the signal which requires some very expensive signal processing hardware. So I read through the manual and two of the USB ports are actually USB 3.0 which can be used to connect a external monitor. So I found this StarTech USB 3.0 to DisplayPort adaptor then I bought the StarTech DisplayPort to MiniDisplayPort adapter (DP2MDPMF6IN) which allowed me to plug in the mini display port plug from the Apple Cinema Display into. After following the directions and installing the included software everything works great! I didn't think this would work, apple and pc hardware don't usually play well together. The picture on the 24-in Apple Cinema Display looks Stunning! No lag or other issues, the only problem is I can't figure out how to turn down the brightness. After connecting the USB plug from the Apple Cinema Display I was able to get the built in iSight camera working and the built in speakers along with the apple keyboard that was plugged into the displays usb hub on the back. Honestly I was ready to buy a new Dell LED monitor but I am very happy I could get the old Apple Display to work with the Dell Laptop, it is just a much more beautifully made object and the color and clarity of the display is better than I could have hopped for!
