Tim Holtz stamp platform, amazing! If your hands are failing this will help you keep crafting, easier than stamp blocks
This Tonic Studio, Tim Holtz stamping platform is fantastic. I have limited dexterity and had given up stamping as so many stamps are larger these days and trying to find stamp blocks that are not very heavy and difficult to span when you have small hands that don't grip well. Those silly thin stamp blocks are to skinny to hold. But this is perfect! The idea is that you can use the clear face of the platform to position your stamps, that is reversable so you can use it with clear stamps as well as those that are on cling foam backings.LOVE IT!!Who is is for?. If you love stamping but your hands don't work, get this board. If you like batch making the same design, get this. You can leave the stamps in place n just re-ink and put new cardstock in to make multiples. Great for Christmas cards or wedding/part invites etc. Great for working out card designs/layouts before you ink your stamp. Great for younger kids, no more wobbly edges when the stamp block movedCould also be good for those who's sight its failing. With asistance for layout, the person can then ink and stamp and just swap card stock and know each card would come out ok.What stamps does it work on.Clear stamps, like the ones free on magazines.Rubber stamps on cling foam backingsIf you have existing stamps on wooden blocks, you can buy foam mount and if you let your rubber stamp sit in a bowl of cold water for a while the glue softens so you can take them off the rubber and remount them on just a new cling foam backing, then you can use them with this. Why this one, not another brand?I like this one over other brands as the platform opens totally flat. Those shaped areas at the bottom edge give you plenty to get hold of, when your hands aren't too good and the same is said whichever side of the platform you use.Sturdy materials and simple to useCan accomodate plenty of card sizes, there are only two closed sides so longer card can pass under the edge on the open sides.I bought this in September 2017 so it is the newer verison. This has got a foam backing and feet on the back of the board but I did feel the platform would still move around. Easy fix: grab a sheet of thin funky foam to put underneath it.TOP tip: DOOOOO put your magnets in masking tape or I used parcel tape. Just wrap parcel tape around the magnet, leaving a tail, so you can pick them up. They are very strong and can be hard to move. Putting the tape on gives you something to get hold of. Also the magnets can be fragile, so if they do break on you, again the tape protects you from any broken pieces. Check out this board on You Tube there are lots of demos.Awesome product well worth it if you like stamping but your hands are letting you down, saves investing in LOADS of sizes of stamp blocks, much easier than trying to source and use the larger sizes of stamp blocks.Get it, its fab! I've been stamping since 2008 and like the heat tool, its going to be a favorite with me.

Brilliant!
I used to be put off stamping due to the potential for a card-destroying mis-stamp at a key stage of the process. I would die-cut shapes for adding stamped sentiments, as they were easy to re-make, but that was about it.This stamping platform has changed all that! The magnets are powerful little blighters that hold down the cardstock firmly. They have neatly-rounded edges, so if you have to slide the magnet across the surface, there are no scratch marks left behind. Being able to position the stamp carefully on the card is a key selling point for me - you can now fine-tune the position before closing the stamping plate. The stamping plate makes contact with the back of the stamp when it is perfectly horizontal, so there is no sideways movement of the stamp at the crucial moment where the stamping plate meets and adheres to the stamp. The position of the stamp relative to the card is now fixed, so you can stamp, then re-ink and stamp again knowing that the stamp will always print in exactly the same position (as long as you don't move the card, but the magnets take good care of that!). This means that an incompletely-inked stamp is no longer the end of your card, and you can clean the stamp and re-ink it in a different colour while it is still attached to the stamping plate, meaning you don't have to cross-contaminate your ink pads in order to achieve images with two or more colours. No need to worry if working with a small stamp and a big ink pad, as the surface of the stamping plate never touches the card, unlike getting ink on the edges of a standard stamping block.Another great use is to be able to rotate the card to add the same stamp to the four corners - push the card into the corner of the frame, line the stamp up with the corner, then press the plate onto the stamp - it will always stamp at the same position in that corner, so stamp - rotate the card 90 degrees - stamp again and repeat. You can build up perfect, geometric patterns in this way. So many uses! Can't wait to really try it out.

Excellent value. Versatile. Easy to use.
I used the platform for card making. I found it easy to position the stamps and paper. The magnets held the paper securely. Don't be like me and hold them in one hand, they are difficult to get apart🤦♀️The open edges of the platform accommodated larger sized pieces of card. If the ink didn't transfer to the card the first time I could re ink the stamp and stamp over the image again with no fuzziness. My delivery was a couple of days late but this item, which had been on my "must have" list for a long time, was well worth the wait.

Go for it!
A very versatile stamping tool with many video tutorials - it's sturdy and can stamp on large cardstock because of its design. I have given the stamping tool 4 stars as I needed to add craft foam as a layer for clear stamps. The lid is reversible as you can work with rubber stamps. The lid has etched gridlines to make lining up easier.Mass production is very achievable especially with layered stamps. A very good price for a highly versatile tool.
