Glad I took the chance on Maono
Really happy with this mic. I've been a mic snob in the past, only buying from Shure, Sennheiser, Rode and similar brands. But I needed something with better noise rejection and I wanted a USB/XLR dynamic mic for versatility. I saw a few reviews of this and decided to offload two other condenser mics and take the risk. I'm very glad I did.I still don't know how to pronounce the company's name, which bugs me about these second-tier companies, but the mic is actually a great one. I'm still fiddling with the software to get the sound I want for my voice, but I'll figure it out. The functionality is good and the ease of setup is there as well.As for looks and the on-camera aspect, I couldn't care less about that. I do like that I can use it for Zoom calls, video recordings for students, and an upcoming podcast. Very versatile. If there was one complaint, it's the size of the foam windscreen. It's gigantic. I saw a video that showed the Rode WS14 intended for the PodMic fits this mic perfectly, so I may go that route.

Excellent Product and Even Better Customer Service
I bought the Maono PD400X about a year ago and was very happy with its performance. Unfortunately, after moving to the U.S., the microphone started having issues. I contacted Maono’s customer support and was blown away by how kind, professional, and helpful they were. They immediately offered to send me a brand-new microphone at no extra cost, without even asking me to return the original one. This kind of after-sales support is rare to find these days. It shows how much Maono cares about their customers and stands behind their products. I’m very grateful and will definitely continue to support this brand. Highly recommended!

Claridad y durabilidad

Amazing sound quality!
Great sound quality, pretty much plug and play, only issue I've had is the USB cable that comes with it sometimes doesn't have CONSISTENT connectivity on startup and I have to remove and replug in several times to get it to recognize the microphone.

SM7b competitor.
I purchased this to use for some podcast intro and outro mic work. I had an AT2020 and this is a huge increase in quality from that. For my voice range, this mic does a great job capturing it. I speak closer to the upper 60hz to around 158hz naturally.I personally use a focusrite scarlet solo for my audio interface (AI) but if you do not have a AI, don't worry, this mic can run via XLR or USB with a Maono app to adjust gain, EQ, compression, etc. I have to say, the USB operation sounds really good. Infact, if you don't have access to some dynamic processing in real time (OBS has these settings) or you don't want to post processing the recording via audacity or whatever software, the Maono app does a great job of tweaking mic settings to make it extremely versatile. It does a decent job picking up acoustic guitar also.I will say, if you run it via XLR and an AI, do yourself a favor and get a inline mic activator and make sure you AI has a setting for phantom 48v.Running this mic via XLR eith an inline mic activator (I use the coda stealth) takes this to a while different level.Highly recommend!
