Pretty Good!
So far so good!Just got it and its working great with my laptop. I specifically got it for an interactive learning program that I am doing and I am relatively pleased with the sound quality. When the surrounding area is quiet it is superb but I noticed when I took the tv off of mute that it fell off a bit and I either had to raise my voice a little or move in closer to the mic so that it would pick up my voice more clearly/easily.So other than that little glitch, it is a nice little mic. Plugged it in and I was rockin' and rollin', so....Oh, huge plus for those traveling about with their laptop/netbook, and need the mic on hand, is that it takes up little to no space if carried in one's pocket or bag for that matter. So for those on a budget looking for a decent mini mic...buy it.

mini mic many problems!
pros:-small in size-no wires to snag-relatively sleek lookingcons:- hard to tune it in for use with VOIP services like Google talk and Skype- because it is so close to the computer some times it is hard to hear on the other end- ------- -- -- -- ----- -- --- -------- it can cause a screechy echo effect- ------- -- -- -- ----- -- --- -------- -- picks up just about every sound your computer is makingconclusion:for a rounded 7 dollars total (price + shipping) you get a mic that is great for travel because of its small size and direct input in to your laptops jack with no messy wires but in being so small and close to the computer it picks up EVERYTHING and i say if you want a mic for home use keep looking. If you use VOIP services i would recommend getting something a little more audio friendly. a desk top mic or a headset combo is probably the way to go!

Improved directional volume
Bought it to go with my Olympus super-mini digital recorder which has great fidelity (if you use headphones) but not much play-back volume.Hoped this might send a little more signal into the systemWell, it did and it did not. It does not increase the volume into the recorder, but it does improve clarity and pick-up when it is aimed toward you (or the speaker). You can aim the unit as well, but this makes it easier to hold the recorder and aim it at the source. Not a great addition to my kit, but handy. I'll keep it - even though it is about half as big as the entire recorder.

2nd one did not work
We ordered one of these in July 2010 and used it for a long time without problems, it went bad and stopped working so I ordered a replacement but this new one whistled, screeched and hummed during the videos we made and after less than 1 hour of use no longer works at all. I have another external microphone that works but I preferred this design. It's not worth sending back but I will not order another one, I like the size and design but not playing the lottery to find another one that works.

GREAT Mic for the price!
I purchased this mic because the mic built into my laptop picks-up too much of the speaker, fan & HD noise. This mic works great with my laptop eliminating the previously noted issues. The only negative is that something loosened-up after a couple of weeks & I must keep the laptop still or something within the mic assembly rattles. Another plus is that I use it to skype when at a remote computer without a microphone or web cam. This mic enables any computer with a front Mic connector, internet connection & speakers to function with skype!

Wow. I didn't even get to use it
Wow. I didn't even get to use it. The product comes with a plastic cover on the metal part. When I pulled the plastic off, the microphone and the wires attached all came off.Don't buy it. I waited several days for a product that lasted me about 15 seconds. And no, I wasn't aggressive or reckless. It's just a cheap product.

does not work with my Galaxy tab 10.1
Well..first at all...I believe this lil microphone does work...I really did not use it since my laptop already has a built-in microphone...I bought it for my Galaxy tab 10.1 since this tablet somehow design its microphone at the bottom and when I use it as standup talking on skype..However, HDE mini 3.5mm microphone does not work with Samsung Galaxy tab 10.1 and the tablet does not recognize it too which shuts all voice down. So I guess the tablet treats it as a speaker since the Galaxy tab 10.1 only has one 3.5mm plug, it does not separate microphone/speaker.I can't comment if this works fine or not...I did not bother to return it and rarely or near to zero using it.

Terrible, but you get what you pay for.
After reading all of the good reviews on this product, I was very excited about receiving it in the mail. When it came (which was exactly as the expected delivery date but no earlier or later), I used it almost right away. The sound didn't pick up right, even after reconfiguring my microphone settings. It sounds very static-y and when speaking it sounds as though you're either too far, too close and the voice is somewhat muffled, as though it's shoved down your throat while you're speaking. It was a huge disappointment. Maybe it worked for someone else, but I'm going to have to give it a no, do not buy.
