Bought this to carry issued M1911A1 with khakis while bob-on-the-FOBing around the 'Ghan on this last tour. Super comfortable. Secure hold. Out of the box the retention screw was way too tight. At appropriate retention, the screw looks and feels like it's about to fall out, but it never did. So, great holster.

I have been a shooter of M1911's for, many years, have carried the weapon as a sidearm in attack jets, have fired in self defense without difficulty. The best day was when I rid myself of the old covered, leather shoulder holster and this carrier allows me to carry, draw and fire with control and confidence. Instinctively, the 1911 can be a dangerous weapon if you carry it with a chambered round and with safeties that could be inadvertantly released. On an FBI firing course, it allows free movement, instant weapon in hand without fear it will fall to the ground and injure yourself or others....It is a very low profile holster on hip or under belt. It is important to check the closure adjustment regularly and there is an allen wrench aupplied for that purpose. Not many civilian law enforcement personnel favor the 1911 because of it's bulk, seven rounds in the basic model vs 14 but nothing equals the knockdown of a 1911 in under 60 feet which is where most dangerous encounters reside.

Purchased as a gift for a friend who ownes a full size ria and a springfield 1911. Both guns fit like a glove.

Exact replacement for holster that is included in the loaded package. Works on 3"-5" 1911.

Well it kinda works. My Springfield fits, but the line between being too tight on the gun and too loose is almost nonexistent. Also, because the barrel of the gun hangs out of the end, the little rivets on my jeans scratched the daylights out of it. Wont be using it again.
