After a recent speight of local bulgaries, I was taking no chances and so ordered this as an additional security measure to go over the dead bolt on the gate at the back entrance of the property.In the past I've bought supposedly waterproof padlocks only to find they've rusted after mere weeks. This one, so far has been good. The water tight cap on the lock entrance is really useful and it being bright red is a bonus to me on the gloomy winters evenings to put the bins out.The only slight issue I've had is that I'm finding it a little hard to turn the key. I'm not sure if it's the mechanism and being a smallish key or if this is a standard feature for this style but the next time I need to get one (hopefully a good few years off!) I will look for one with a bigger key and check reviews for advice on how easy it is to open and to lock

The padlock serves its purpose for me as I only wanted it to function as a lock to our gate prior to us moving house. However, I was disappointed that it seems to take in water at the top while it is raining. When taking off the cover to reveal the lock, water drips/pours out of the lock. The cover over the keyhole is there to prevent water from getting into the mechanism that way (from below) but it seems to get into the top of the lock.

A great padlock that seems to be well made and is really easy to use. I like the feel of the spring mechanism when you unlock it and it locks back in place with little to no effort required. The waterproof covering is a nice addition although time will tell how well it fairs. On its second use I did quite easily mange to knock off one of the waterproof grommets when I removed the padlock from the bolt but it popped straight back on, I just hope it doesn't come off so easily every time I use it. This is the only reason I have gave it 4 stars.

DO NOT USE this lock outdoors.I got this for my side gate but after it rained a few times it started to stick i stopped using it because i feel like one day its not going to unlock

I would suggest that this locks rugged looks acts as a good visual deterrent but would not put up much of a fight against a professional thief with bolt cutters as underneath the rugged looks, and rubber coating is a relatively thin shackle, I would only use the lock for secondary security use only, on a bike for example, (which is what I use it for). That said it offers very good value for money, but "heavy duty" is debateable.

The padlock it’s self is a good quality lock. I wouldn’t call it heavy duty though. It is a lot smaller than I thought it would be.

A good padlock that worth the money if in promotion. I though it was bigger, my fault, so an image showing the dimensions would be useful for future customers. The only drawback is the rubber ring (to make it waterproof) that is on the padlock but not glued to it (or part of the black rubber sleeve) so it falls from time to time. It's easy to put it back....as long as you see where it falls,
