What do you recommend to clean bearings for inline skates before lubricant-cream?

Ok so what I've done is make my own cleaning tube. You can find the how to on the net, basically it's a small water bottle, the ones with the wide top, a long bolt and a nut and a couple of washers to hold it together. Then I load the bottle up with either isopropyl or white spirit maybe carb cleaner and thread the bearings on to the bolt and screw the top back on. shake it all around and after a min or two of shaking leave it alone for the dirt to settle. Then remove and give them a little extra clean with the solution and apply speed cream or Singer sewing machine lubricant....

How many drops does it roughly contain?

Will this work on Penny boards?
