The media could not be loaded.  Had a cheap dashcam from garage and it lasted a couple of months so i decided to invest in a high quality one. I use this one in my wagon and the wide angle lens catches vehicles as soon as they come in to my eyeline, the setup is simple and only takes 5 minutes. The video quality is excellent even in low light.The power cable is good quality and plenty long enough to hide in the dash, even in my wagon and automatically starts and stops the cam with the ignition.The G-sensor is a great feature that my old cam didnt have, any sudden braking or bumps and the current recording is locked and moved to a different folder.Parking mode records if the vehicle is stopped and the camera sees any movement, i wish i had this last month when someone decided to key the paintwork of my car. Parking mode requires a permenant power supply.I am going to buy the GPS adapter that will mark speed and location on the video, its available on amazon  Car Suction Cup Mount with GPS Receiver Module (for Windows) and mini USB Port for Vantrue OnDash R2 ,X1 , X2 Dash Cam (R2 GPS Mount) Another great feature is the quick connect to the suction cup so you do not need to mess about setting up the direction every time you use.Take a look at the video, (about 16:54 on screen time) i have uploaded (not full quality due to amazon restrictions) to see why you need one of these.Dave

Excellent video out of this camera. The photo and clips of the recording are extremely clear and vivid. I’ve used a couple dash cams over the years and I would like to say this one is the best so far. Super easy to use and the quality is great.

I asked my Husband to get me a dash cam for my Christmas present after a head on close call with an overtaking car one morning on my way home from work. Never had one before.I did quite a lot of research and eventually settled on this model the Vantrue X1, https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07433G74W/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1mainly as it had the highest pixels and widest angle view combination out there – no point having a narrow field of view and rubbish picture quality! Also, I wanted a reasonable sized viewing screen, and this one has a lovely sized screen for quick reviews, although obviously putting onto a laptop makes viewing detail even easier. As I also wanted to get a rear camera, I decided to buy two and use them for both front and rear recording – again, all the feedback I had read on purpose built rear cams said the poor 640 / 720 pixel quality made them useless.I was very impressed with the camera and packaging when delivered. We purchased them as a pre Christmas offer, so the saving made them great value @£160 for the pair. I knew the camera would be small and nifty and I was very pleased with how robust it feels and the quality. It looks much nicer in person than it appears in the sales images. It’s perfectly sized – not too big and not too small. Very discreet indeed and fits just behind my rear view mirror on the LHS. I can’t even see it while I drive. You can hardly even notice the whole set up from the outside and the rear view on is almost completely invisible as my rear window is tinted. A bonus we discovered is that you can set the rear one to keep the screen on for 3/5 mins after initial start up and it gives you the additional benefit of using it as a reversing camera. Very handy indeed. I haven’t tried but I suppose you could also choose to set the screen to stay on all the time, but I don’t think that would be good for long journeys in the long run – probably get quite hot?. I just buzz back and forth in a 30 mile radius.I had read comments that some people found the holder too long, but I did not find this to be the case. My only improvement suggestion to the manufacturer would be that the option of having a left and right micro lead connecting port would be beneficial, but that is picking hairs. It took us two attempts to get it to stick but that was because we initially placed it over the tinted dotty bits at the very top of the windscreen. Once placed on clear glass it has not budged. My Husband was patient enough to feed all the wires behind the trim for me so it’s all neat and tidy. I chose not to have them hard wired into my car so they start up and switch off within seconds of the engine starting or stopping. It also has a handy usb charger port for your phone. I have a HONDA CRV 4x4 and we had just enough lead length to use once all hidden away but it was tight and would not have been possible without the duo connectors spare 50cms. Obviously if you are just using from one point of view, then you probably won’t have any issues.The device is very easy to use. Picture quality is excellent in my opinion. As I have discovered, you need to remember to keep your windscreen pretty clean – not easy mid muddy winter and I have also found that it makes me more aware of my driving, which results in me being a better driver. Nothing like having a little spy in the car to keep you in line. The playback footage does make it appear that I have been speeding along faster than I have been, but I think that’s all cameras. The GPS mount holder you can purchase additionally would an additional safety measure you could choose if it bothered you.Overall I am very impressed with it as a dash cam and very pleased that I purchased it. It has met my expectations although I am not is a rush to experience a crash to see if the emergency storage facility is fully operational. I recommend to anyone thinking of purchasing a good quality dash cam.
