Great for a smaller tank
Had it running in a 120 litre tank but it struggled and in hindsight should have gone for the next size up.Recommended reading instructions as hose connection is different in the fact that you leave the locking nut on connector and screw it onto the hose. Now on a smaller tank and working really well

Clearly working
It was my first time using this product and l am very happy with this as my fish tank seems much clearer and tidy now after two weeks, l will continue to purchase this product in the future, l would recommend these for customers to try out.

Comes with a few quirks but it's livable
Works great, simple and straightforward. However they failed to mention how to connect everything together. So you will struggle if you take off the plastic tightener and assume you put the hose through it first then back tighten it. That won't work. You will need to leave everything as it came then connect the hose physically to the plastic connectors THEN loosen the plastic part until it no longer turns. It's somewhat backwards especially if you're used to christmas lights connectors and fasteners but it's connect first then unwind to tighten the hose into the thread.Otherwise everything works great, green hose could be made more pliable as it is rather stiff, I recommend using a hair dryer to heat it up so it straightens up a little. Found that the cage for intake had bits of plastic (presumably from when it was molded) over so had to cut that up with a sharp blade but it was mainly the bottom part. The waterfall like feature is rather inconsistent but that's just physics cause the first outlet closes to the outtake pipe would be strongest and the furthest away would have the weakest so you dont get that even water height/pressure- also sags a little.Otherwise I'm fairly happy with the canister it's perfect for my 60L aquarium because it needs to handle the bioload I add and it means that if it's not working at full capacity I can provide a gentler output. However, I find the residence of the aquarium love playing against the waterflow of it.Overall for the price of it, it's absolutely great. Works and functions pretty well. Messy to clean up though so I recommend having a bowl under when you decided to disconnect or clean the sponges. Otherwise it's really good for what it's worth, it just has a few quirks like making sure the fan/motor is positioned away from objects or else you get that quiet humming side that can be irritating and if you can just get past that initial startup cleaning it doesnt need your attention.I like using the larger output and position it against the glass to make it quiet and my residents love playing against the current of it.

Its cheap, does the job good and very good for a starter tank.
its a cheap pump, BUY IT!!! I've used to keep reef tanks been out of the hobby a couple of years now but I've decided to get some tropical fish for the little ones, there is no primer on it but it was easy to prime if you half know what you are doing and for what it is I class it 5 star for a starter tank ALL DAY LONG!! I have had all the fluvals and this does the same job, albeit its manual priming as opposed to auto. (small tip.... turn off valve on top of filter keep water in the pipe and you shouldn't have to prime again)

Wouldn’t recommend to my worse enemy
I got this as a replacement for a 15 year old 205 fluval external pump. When the pump arrived I was very disappointed setting it up, it was flimsy, the clips to hold the lid on kept falling off, inlet pipe was crushed despite the box being in prefect condition. When i finally manage to set it up, behold it’s got air leaks, water leaking from the bottom seal from behind the pump, the pump can’t get enough water out of the tank due to the inlet pipe being crushed.Absolute waste of money, I was that upset that I’d wasted £45 on this that I’ve took a hammer to it and thrown it in the recycling bin where it belonged.I honestly wish this review was fake, but it’s true.Avoid avoid avoid buying this just stick with the fluval ones should have taken my own advice!Massively disappointed with this product and the fact they have put their name on it is even worse, just shows they’re willing to push rubbish out just to get the money in.

Priming is a problem
Once running, it's fine. BUT, the slightest interuption in power causes it to barely produce any flow until you prime it again. The problem being that you might not notice that it is barely producing any flow. To be clear, I live in an area where I get, not quite a power cut, but a dip. You may notice it's affect in the room lights (if they're on). SO the power hasn't gone fully off so that you would be clued in by a flashing clock on an appliance. Meaning that I have to check the outflow every day. Just in case.It comes with two outlets, one I'm going to call a whale tail, the other is a strip with ten holes. Use the one with ten holes. If the system isn't fully primed you only get outflow from maybe two of the ten holes. Once fully primed you get outflow from all ten holes. If you use the "whale tail" you struggle to quantify the ouput. That said. It's easy to assemble. Comes with enough hose. There should be adequate power cord. Once running I don't think you should need to check it for at least a month. I only have a 80lt tank so I'm hoping to go three months between cleaning out the filter. I carry out weekly water quality checks so I'll know if things are going bad.If I had to replace this pump I would be happy to stay with the brand but I would want a pump that can self-prime in the event of a power fluctuation/cut. I've no idea what to do when I go on holiday. If there's a power dip then there will be barely any outflow until I return and prime the pump.Oh, and if you want to know how to fill the system. Install the pump and the hoses, then suck on the outlet! Just watch for the water in the hose before it enters your mouth...
